At this moment the tower became puzzled; even if the compasses were not working, the crew should have been able to fly west by following the sun. But the 5 navy aircraft never returned to base. (History.com) Later on in the 1900 hundreds, there were several more reports of ships being hit by what was said to be a freak wave or rogue wave. One of the most famous ships to get hit by a rogue wave was the Queen Mary. In 1942 while carrying 15,000 American troops 608 nautical miles (700 mi/1,126 km) from Scotland during a gale, RMS Queen Mary was broadsided by a 92-foot (28 m) wave and nearly capsized. Queen Mary listed briefly about 52 degrees before the ship slowly righted herself. (live science.com) One of the most memorable rogue wave occurrences was on October 30, 1991.
No one came in advance despite the fact he left a note as well. 2. The characters we meet in the opening scene are Mr. Smith. We see that he is going through some mental issues because he tries to fly off the top of Mercy Hospital. Unsurprisingly, he falls to his death because he is not able to fly.
Who was responsible for this tragedy? The Americans or the Russians? Both have very different views of the real reason why. The battle of controversy between the two is never ending and still not clear till this day. Many historians and authors are debating as to what really happened as KAL 007 flew an ‘incorrect’ flight path over a hyper sensitive military area of the USSR at the time, some 369 miles off course.
The dive bombers started to climb in altitude and disappeared. The torpedo bombers started to decline and head for many U.S carriers. The environment was not peaceful anymore as I heard the multiple bombs go off. My team did not stop at our first attack at Ford Island. We kept going east to Honolulu.
The villages and trees had disappeared, they could not even see any ruins, for the waves has demolished and swallowed up the inhabitants, the homes and the plantations. The few people who had managed to escape to high ground before the waves struck, were reluctant to return to their homes. Most of their friends and families had been killed, and they feared that further eruptions might lead to another terrible wave. For many years the coasts of the islands remained scarcely
The Bermuda Triangle Mystery The Bermuda Triangle is a strange and mysterious region in the South West Atlantic, where people, ships, boats, and air craft flying over it have presumably been sucked into its stormy waters and/or disappeared. The apexes of this triangle have been widely disputed but generally thought to be Bermuda, Miami, Florida, and San Juan, Puerto Rico; this area covers about 500000 miles. One may ask how could a ship possibly disappear, but somehow many ships have. In 1918, a navy ship called the U.S.S Cyclops went missing along with 309 crew members. No one knows for sure what happened, but people have speculated that the captain was rather eccentric, and that the crew had a disagreements, which later, was settled before the ship vanished.
The Historical Accuracy of The Odyssey Homer wrote The Odyssey in which Odysseus travels to many locations and comes across trouble trying to get back to his homeland, Ithaka. After a storm blows him off course he arrives at the Kyklops’ island. Then he sails to Aiolos’ island and receives a bag of wind in which his crew members foolishly open and they were blown back to Aiolos’ island. Later they sail past a monster which eats some of his crewmembers. Homer composes parts in The Odyssey that are fictional; however most of The Odyssey is accurate such as the locations and creatures that appear in the epic poem.
