She isn’t alive during the time the book takes place, but you can see that the author, Camus, describes the relationships she had with the other characters throughout the book. The author leaves readers under the impression that Madame Meursault had a good relationship with Meursault, Mr. Perez and even the other people at the retirement home she was put in by Meursault 3 years before her death. Camus gives the readers the impression that Meursault was on rather good terms with his mother prior to her death. It wasn’t a perfect relationship that they shared, but Camus explained what Meursault had learned through his mother.

The classic book Diary Of a Young Girl is the haunting diary of Jewish teen Anne Frank, who hid from the Nazis for two years and whose promising talent was cut short by her death after she was captured by the Nazis in 1945 at the age of only fifteen. During her two years in the secret annex in which she hid with her family and another Jewish family, Anne changed and matured physically, psychologically, and emotionally from a friendly, but somewhat shallow child into a philosophical, mature young woman. Her changing thoughts and inner feelings reflect this change, propelling her into adulthood. Her diary is a window into her soul. Over the course of her two years in hiding, the “outer” and “inner” Anne, which were once one and the same, intertwine and differentiate until she forms a stoic outer shell to keep her increasingly dark, conflicted and self-aware thoughts secret.

Jane Austen is a renowned writer who portrays her personal life through the actions and spoken words of her novels. Many of the hardships that she had to undergo became the basis for her novels, including Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility. The experiences that she had throughout her life became ideas for stories of young women desperately trying to break free of the social classes. Her novels normally revolve around a young couple deeply in love but torn apart by society and its views on wealth and fortune. In comparing the novel Pride and Prejudice (p&p) with film Sense and Sensibility (s&s), one is able to discern the obvious commonalities while search for the differences.
