A Safe and Pleasant Working Environment (AO3 T6)??? Thorpe Park follows the "Health and Safety At Work Act 1974" throughout by making sure that all rides and equipment are safe for both internal and external customers. This Act says that Thorpe Park has a number of responsabilities which includes providing a safe work environment for employees, contractors and guests, making safe devices and protective equipment available and consulting its employees to make sure that safe working practices continue to be used. There are different departments at Thorpe Park where this is done. Every morning, every ride is checked by a qualified engineer and they are all test ran with no passengers and then they repite it again with members of staff in them. If the engineer is happy then a fit to ride card will be signned and left at each loading dock at each ride, if the card is not signed by the engineer that ride will remain shut until the card has been signed, if for some reason several rides have not received this signed card then this may cause the park to be delayed on opening what would impact the customer service because customers can be reassured that all the rides are safe before the get in. Firstly, it means that the park will attract more customers as they will have a much more enjoyable experience with happy/helpful staff so they are therefore more likely to return agauin. This also means the Park get a better reputation as visitors will be more likely to give them the edge over other local comprtition. They do this by making the Park suitable for all ages and different types of customers. They also get the edge over other competitors by having rides such as "one of Europe´s fastest rollercoaster", "the world´s first 10 looping rollercoaster" and "Europe´s tallest wing
