‘Still Angela’ by Jenny Kemp and ‘Ruby Moon’ by Matt Cameron are plays that evaded the norms of conservative and often straightforward theatre, into a dreamlike, surreal state. They portray life as a routine; and to escape it, the characters pursuit their own inner self journeys. Both playwrights Cameron and Kemp use contemporary theatre forms, which has created an interesting approach on story telling. However the theatrical techniques of Ruby Moon and Still Angela are completely dissimilar. Unlike ‘Still Angela’s’ jolted time frame, ‘Ruby Moon’ has a very distinct progression, as it is highly episodic.
Beatrice and Benedick are the mains characters in the play even though the play is based around Claudio and hero. Beatrice and Benedick are both extremely vibrant and although they are different in many ways, both in fact share similarities. They also seem to be the most modern characters of the play because neither of them to begin with like the idea of marriage. In the time of Shakespeare this would be an extremely unusual attitude, especially for a woman. Both demonstrate similar attitudes towards each other throughout the play, which fluctuates between love and hate.
What makes this more comedic is the fact that this is the first time she and Frank have met; these are the first words Rita says face to face with Frank. However, this may not be seen as comedic, in the sense that she really was angry that she couldn't get in because she was so eager to learn. The second aspect that makes the first three scenes comedic is through physical comedy. Physical comedy can also be known as slapstick, and generally involves one or more characters that is dependant upon visual, usually exaggerated, jokes and gestures through use of the body. An example of this in Educating Rita is where, at the start of Scene 2, Frank opens the door and sees Rita with a can of oil, oiling his door.

I want to dictate what I want my future to look like and want I want to experience through that journey. During the past several years I have a way started on a path of possible enlighten. I have come to the realization that I need to sometimes be selfish and worry about my well being first and foremost. How can I make the strongest impact on others if I’m not in a good physical or mental state? If I try to please everyone, I will burn out and feel terrible when expectations are not met.
It doesn’t matter if we have in mind the villainous Iago, the love struck Romeo, or the treacherous wife of Macbeth. And so it is with the play Hamlet. Within this work we have a protagonist that you feel you might have seen one time on a reality TV show and characters serving within the peripheral that appear eerily similar to neighbors you might

Accepting that there would be obstacles and learning how to overcome them to be successful was a challenge all in itself. There is a big difference in wanting and needing something in your life. I had to decide for myself if I would allow the challenges of being a single mother and being overwhelmed with my children’s lives to affect me from continuing my education. This was something that would
