The Toy Company Memo To: CEO and Executive Team From: Elementary Division Manager Date: February 10, 2014 Re: Whistles Failed Examination During periodic testing a problem with one of the products in the elementary toy collection failed inspection. The metal whistle exceeded United States federal guidelines pertaining to lead amounts. The detection indicated are somewhat above the U.S. permissible limits for youths ages 7 and younger. With hardly any disallowment from federal guidelines, all children’s productions constructed after August 14, 2011containing lead, must be 100 parts per million (ppm) or less (U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, 2014). Lead has been classified as a hazardous matter even at low levels in children (Www2.epa.gov, 2014). Major health conditions varying from behavior and learning problems, to hearing problems as well as Anemia according to the EPA (Www2.epa.gov, 2014). The central exchange for the product in which we are referring are elementary schools in South America. An abundant freight of the elementary toy collection is planned to be transported to schools by the weeks end. The precise amount to duplicate the content and send the toy collection freight at a later time is $100,000. In the notes below you will be presented with three possible resolutions to approach this problem confronting The Toy Company. I will be implementing one decision making model in which I will use to address all three judgments. To begin, I will define the problem, asking what are the issues facing the company? Next, gather background information to help me understand some of the components I will be faced with in order to make an advisory decision.
