Tiger Woods: The Legacy That Can’t Be Forgotten Tiger Woods is considered by many to be the greatest golfer ever to live. He is known for his concentration and determination on the course. The things he accomplished over his career were are remarkable. Most golfers look up to Tiger, and view him as a role model, despite his personal issues. Tiger Woods is The Greatest Golfer of All Time. On December 30, 1975 in In Cypress California Eldrick Tont "Tiger" Woods was born. Tigers’ father nick named ‘Tiger’ because someone he served in Vietnam with, was going to name his son Tiger, when he passed away, Tigers’ father wanted to name him after him. At the age of 2 Tiger appeared on the Michael Douglas show. At the age of 12 he broke par on the course in regulation. Following was an outstanding college career two years at Stanford, Tiger Woods was twice named a 1st team All-American - in both 1995 & 1996. He was the NCAA individual champion in 1996 and was named the Jack Nicklaus national player of the year. He was named 1st team all-conference in 1995 & 1996. His injuries were caused simply by the force of his swing, He did something that was different from everyone else, and He put way more tension on his left knee, causing the cartilage to wear over time. The other major injury was his back, which is common for golfers. Golf is considered one of the most strenuous sports for your back, the golf swing is not a natural motion. One of the main things that separated Tiger from the rest was his ability to hit the ball much longer than everyone else giving him the edge on competitive golf.
