Sport Injuries Motocross is a form of motorcycle racing that is held on a closed off circuit with man-made circuits. It is a very physically demanding sport. Racing events can be held in all weather conditions and racing is visually appealing to spectators, with riders performing what seems like death-defying leaps. Riders must be physically fit to perform at peak levels and can be seen as they move their bodies around their motorcycles to balance the bikes for maximum speed. Injuries are extremely common in the sport of Motocross. There is a high level of stress on the body and the risk of injury is high. It is during race events that the majority of Motocross injuries occur. Injuries sustained during racing are likely to be caused by a crash or fall. Racing at fast speeds and crashing can result in serious injuries including fatalities and spinal cord injuries. The majority of motocross riders who sustain injuries are under the age of 25. As more riders are men, the injuries rate is more frequent than for women riders. Although all or some of the body can be damaged due to a crash or fall, the upper limb is injured more frequently than the lower limb. Although many injuries occur at a bend in the track, landing from a jump carries a big risk of injury. Wearing safety gear such as goggles, elbow and knee guards, neck braces help to reduce the seriousness of the inury. What is a Broken Collar Bone? The collarbone (clavicle) is one of two long, slender bones found on either side of the chest. Each clavicle is attached to the breastbone (sternum) at one end and to the shoulder blade (scapula) at the other end. They connect the arms to the trunk of the body. The Collar Bone or Clavicle is one of the most frequently broken bones in the body. A broken Collar bone is an extremely common shoulder injury in Motocross
