■ A formal training/teaching qualification. ■ A detailed, chronological list of evidence to show that I have regularly provided FAW training during the previous three years. If this is limited, evidence of other first aid training that demonstrates all the elements of the FAW syllabus are covered by my experience; or ■ Evidence to show that I have conducted at least two practical and two theoretical first aid training sessions under the supervision of a qualified assessor, in the last three years. (hse website) Training aids should be appropriate and clearly contribute towards achievement of the stated objectives. All students should benefit from the training aids used.
Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) Level 4 Theory Assessment: No 1 Review what your role, responsibilities and boundaries as a teacher would be in terms of the teaching/training cycle. I will begin with a brief overview of the nature of the tuition/instruction that I currently provide and how this is underpinned by government guidelines (BILD). From the guidelines, clear and defined responsibilities and boundaries are established as well as a definition of my role teaching within this sphere of expertise. However, I will look at each element of the teacher/training cycle in respect to my role as a teacher and how, always falling within guidelines, I am able to bring contemporary aspects of teaching to the fore within my training sessions. I work as a PROACT-SCIPr-UK® instructor in an Autistic school with a residential setting.
• Practice To show evidence that I have complied with all guidelines to ensure that the learners continue to develop as they should do by the policies and procedures that need to be met for the subject matter. • Disclosure In my line of work due to data protection etc., it is important for me to make sure that notifications of any criminal activity is reported to the institute that I am working for at the time that could potentially place the institute in jeopardy. • Responsibility
I can’t teach any subject that I am not thoroughly trained in and I must make sure my students understand the subject and are fully competent before I sign them off. When I am running a first aid course I need to take in to account Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (The Copyright and Related Rights Regulations 2003), covering the reproduction and use of course materials, the First Aid at Work Act 1974 in which I have a responsibility to employees (my course assessor), my students and any visitors. As I am travelling to different venues I need to carry out risk assessments for each area, familiarise myself with the building and facilities from building lay out and emergency exits to trip hazards and room temperature. The Equality Act 2006 recognises inclusiveness by respecting the right of learners to attend and participate no matter what their gender, religion, race, disability, sexual orientation or age so my courses must be open to all and tailored to suit their needs which in turn also covers the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 and the Race Relations Amendment act 2000. I need to pay my assessors the same fee and treat them the same taking in to account the Equal Pay Act 1970 and the Human Rights Act.
Unit 1: Preparing to teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector Level 3 Theory Assessment Task 6 Explain the need for keeping records and describe the types of records you would maintain. Keeping records is a fundamental part of teaching. Not only is it an essential element of the teaching cycle, it is also a legal requirement in some aspects. A teacher cannot properly plan, teach, assess and evaluate without access to well maintained and accurate records. Records are required from the first moment a learner makes contact with the college, throughout their time in education and even after the learner has left, for a period of a few years.
After three years of teaching (all three years 1st grade), I am still establishing a “teaching routine” and figuring out the best strategies in the areas of teaching particular skills and behavior management. Therefore, my goals for five years from now would be much the same; continue teaching a self-contained classroom of 1st graders. I want to feel complete confidence and certainty in my teaching before “moving on” to something different. I feel as if it will take the next five years to feel this complete assurance. Possibly ten years from now I would like to tackle an upper primary grade level self-contained classroom or become a Reading and Writing Specialist.
Another key element to our college is the learners/young people. Safe guarding is introduced right from their induction, learners/young people have to identify designated senior persons (DSP) as part of their induction qualification. Learners/young people must also attend safe guarding tutorials throughout the year. Safe guarding is promoted throughout the college with photos of the designated senior persons (DSP) all around the college. The safe guarding policy and procedure is highlighted in all staff and learner sessions.
You are assigned the challenge of designing the training program for the temporary CSS employees, who must complete training before they become permanent CSS employees. 1. Defining Personal Responsibility Personal responsibility encompasses many different definitions, ideas, and concepts.
Due to my perseverance, I made it and have the educational background that I have been trying to get for many years. * In addition to the reasons I stated above, a college education is important, because I can learn a lot of things that are beneficial to me later in life. I can learn and improve on my reading and writing skills. I have to write essays and reports which help me improve my writing techniques. I can improve my communication skills while in speech class and working on team projects.
