Internet is like a second teacher for most students. About 98% of high school students in North America have used computers to do researches for their homework. Surfing on internet give students freedoms to study in different ways.
Electronic communication methods The first electronic method that FHS uses is a Weebly. Weebly is a website that is designed to help students to improve their exam results and teachers use this website to provide online lessons to students. The website has variety of revision materials for each subject. This includes past papers, specific topic lessons and video links. Through weebly FHS communicates to hundreds of students when they are at home or in school.
COM10003 Learning and Communicating Online Assignment 3: Reflective Essay The technology of social networking sites has established online collaboration tools and created opportunities for students to utilise the vast amount of communication tools for completion of their work. (Weaver et al., 2010). Throughout this unit I have developed skills to use and evaluate online sources of information not only for academic purposes but for social and personal interests too. The purpose of this paper is to reflect on my experiences from this unit by discussing how I have developed skills in finding, using and evaluating online sources of information for academic purposes. The scope of this paper will begin by discussing how my use of online sources has developed over the period of the course.

Students across the country have relied more and more heavily upon methods such as copy and paste through the use of the internet, sharing and conversing about online tests or quizzes and the newest of the innovative technology, texting answers to classmates. Teachers must make an effort to distinguish what is right and wrong in conversing with peers and looking to the internet for help. Conversing with students for answers is tolerated when instructed to do so and is vital in developing communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills in students. However, when used array such as conversing answers on an online quiz only serves as a hindrance to the academic success of the student. Internet, in the same fashion is a great source for learning if the right sites are used and the use of the internet is permitted on an assignment with appropriate referencing and works cited included, but the ever so in-famous copy and paste does not benefit anybody in the process.

In addition, I can even share my note with my friends who are taking classes that I already took. Second, networking on laptop provides student with an opportunity to search more information on any class material within and outside of a class. For instance, in my plant biology class of this semester, when professor talked about “Kranz Anatomy”, which was a new concept to me so I didn’t understand most of it ; however I was able to go online on my laptop while I was in class, and was able to learn more clearly about Kranz Anatomy. Third, with laptop students are able to retrieve their saved work easily. For example, in my chemistry class of last fall, I forgot to bring my lab report that needed to be turned in, but luckily I had it on my laptop so I was able to plug in my laptop to one of the printer on campus and print my lab report.
* At GHS (Greenwich High School in Greenwich CT) every classroom has a Smart-board, which is especially useful when integrating technology into daily lessons. * I teach 10th grade American History and 11th grade AP Comparative Government and Politics, so I typically start my Do Now’s with a political cartoon or news clip on the Smart-board that students can observe/watch or analyze prior to the lesson and then make connections between that event and the Essential Question of the unit and day. * You can also write directly onto a Smart-board, which makes it especially useful. 2.)
