Hypothesis – If, people dance before they squeeze clothes pins then, they will squeeze them more than people who rest before people squeeze clothes pins. Methods and Material – The materials I used were clothespins, a timer, a pencil, paper, music, and ten people to test the experiment. The procedure was to get the ten people to squeeze the clothespin for one minute and count their amount of squeezes at the end. Then record their numbers. Then to put music on and have the ten people dance for two minutes. After, the ten people will, again, squeeze their clothespins for one minute and write down their results. Finally, record and compare the data. The dependent variable was the number of times the clothes pin could be squeezed in a minute. The independent variable was dancing for two minutes. The constant is the speed to the song, temperature, age, and time. Data Collected – See data table attached. Discussions and Conclusions – My hypothesis was supported because the people who danced before they squeezed their clothes pins ended up having more squeezes than the people who rested before squeezing clothes pins. Suggestions for Improvement – Variables that might have influenced the outcome of my experiment were how fast or vigorous a person was dancing compared to another, someone’s motivation to squeeze the clothes pin more than others, and the amount of time each person rested before squeezing clothes pins for the first time. Suggestions for Further Research – My suggestions for other investigations that could be done to further support my findings or to answer any new questions that came up during this experiment are to warily time the amount of time the tested students were resting before squeezing the clothes pins and to have all ten students dance in the same way and pace as everyone else to have more control in this
