Our mission is to show needy families and individuals that there are local people willing to offer a helping hand in times of hardship. Volunteers at MRNSP demonstrate this mission everyday by volunteering their time to provide home visits, assessments, referrals to available resources and services, and assistance with necessities such as food and clothing. Government intervention would be beneficial in ensuring that the schools are providing well balanced foods while offering good education for the students that they take home and share with their families on how to eat better. Quality foods can lead to a healthy mind and body, healthy minds and bodies can lead to a better education. (2013), “Volunteers of America Food Banks in Everett, Sultan, Mill Creek and Greenwood/North Seattle distribute emergency food to families, children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities.” Not only do they provide food to those in need, they work with community partners and coalitions to leverage community resources and raise awareness and support for the hungry community. “Many local economic factors contribute to this demand on our food bank services, and we find that the vast majority of our main customers- 50% are children and seniors- come from working households, families on unemployment or those on fixed incomes who struggle to make ends meet.” States the V.O.A.W.W.

Augsburg College, Minneapolis, Minnesota Augsburg College prepares work-study students for their community experience by working with a major community partner to provide a site orientation that includes an overview of the community partner's mission and programs at the community partner's location. The site orientation includes a tour of the neighborhood to familiarize students with the area. Students are trained before beginning their positions by the campus service-learning staff, community site supervisors and consultants in specific topics. Students attend monthly reflection and on-going training sessions developed to address issues and needs of the students as they arise. Monthly reflection also takes place via email.
The marketing channels to be used to optimise the marketing and promotional effort to the community would be through local retail stores, a charity donation box placed at selected supermarkets to encourage customers to donate their spare change and creating fundraising events such as Happy Tails Day, an event where customers are given the opportunity to help by purchasing the Happy Tails Day merchandise at their local store. This fundraising event will be promoted through an ezine in order to reach a wider audience. Ethic principles are the moral or ethical rights that arise in a business environment or what the business must do within their organisation to be morally right in the communities’ point of view.
