Resistance to change plays a major role in the psychological factors of a person as they fear change. People tend to differ and resist to change because of fear of failure, climate of mistrust, and people not seeing the benefits of change. An example or resistance to change is a employee who has been working at the same company for 30 years. This employee fears the change of working outside of his knowledge with a different company. This resistance of change holds the person back as they fear failure. Anxiety and resistance to change go hand in hand. Anxiety stops us from taking action in our lives and makes us resist change by stirring up fears of what is not known. Often certainty is more comfortable than uncertainty. The anxiety underlying our fear of change leads to other more specific fears that support a resistance to change. These examples are the ones I have previously stated such as fear of failure. One of the ways to manage resistance to change is being optimistic and positive about certain situations and not doubt yourself and what you can do. The mind is a powerful thing and if you tell yourself or fear something, you are most likely not able to perform the task ahead. Overall, the resistance to change is normal and is among all of us but learning to understand that we will all fear things to change but managing these situations and being optimistic about it can make ourselves
