The Great Gun Control Crisis Of all the steadily growing issues that seem to plague America one of the most prominent in our day and age is the issue of gun control it appears that a man made tool intended for supposed good has once again found itself in the controversial spotlight. What is the issue concerning guns? Are we operating in our legal right to own them? Do we manage them right? Should citizens be allowed to carry?
The main issue at hand in the midst of all the statistics and arguments is within the people themselves. The saying “guns don’t kill people, people kill people” is a testament to the crimes and violence perpetrated today. Criminals do not commit crimes simply because they have access to firearms, but rather they already have a mindset to commit a certain crime with whatever weapon they find most effective. The two most powerful organizations involved in gun control and gun rights, The Brady Campaign and The National Rifle Association, have contributed heavily in gun politics and will further try to keep the country safe while allowing its citizens the right to bear
The statistics are scary, and even more shocking is the reality of the violence just knowing that at anytime and anyplace you can be in the middle of gun violence or even a victim. I will now be more cautious of places I go and the people I hang out around especially in an area where gun violence is a major
Will an armed society provide us all safety? Knowing what is going around the world today make me feel unsafe, and sometimes I even worry about what might happen if I decide to go out, but is it right for anyone to carry a gun? Many people believe that anyone has the right to walk in to a store and buy a gun, while others think that they should be investigated in depth. Some grate suggestions are, background checks and identification papers. With the news is filled with murders, assaults, rapes, accidents, and many other crimes, I feel that we as a country have the right to ask for more protection.
Many of the guns and ammunition of today are far more powerful than anything needed for those reasons. Gun violence, including mass shootings, continues to increase in occurrence and severity, and weapons continue to advance, becoming more dangerous as they become more powerful. Above are just a few horrific examples of gun related violence, committed by people with legally purchased weapons. It is necessary to make changes in order to help save lives. Some people say ‘guns don’t kill people, people kill people.’ I agree with this statement, but I also believe that guns certainly make it easier to injure or kill many people.
The Gun Debate in America Today The gun control policies in the US need to be stronger. There are more than a few actions that can be taken instead of simply just confiscating all the guns. With politicians trying to take guns out of our hands they are mistakingly disarming plenty of well behaved citizens. There should be heavier efforts on the front line of enforcing the laws already put into place or perhaps putting more laws into place that would protect the general public. Law abiding citizens who are properly armed are a natural crime deterrent by themselves.
A more recent study suggests that changes to Canada’s gun control law have had an effect on accidental firearm death rates, particularly in males. (Boyd, p. 35) Criminologists are sure that gun control must exist and be rather strict to avoid countless victims. Certainly, rate of crime must be regulated through many tools : penalties, fines, confiscation but gun control plays the supreme role. I deem Canadian gun control system should not be changed, for its work is an effecient one. I think that several amendments should be addopted.
Gun Control This is an issue that I would like to address because majority of the people I know and whom I may consider friends and family have been affected by gun violence in one way or the other either directly or indirectly. I would like to propose tougher laws to be put in place for those who would like to get a gun, to those who have violated gun laws and those who are found guilty of using guns to partake in criminal activities. In deciding to deal with this law I understood that firearms cannot be out rightly be banned therefore to encourage fairness, justice and to protect the peoples right, the best option or way forward was to amend and make proposal to the current laws. It should be noted that my recommendations are for federal

Guns have been around for a long time throughout history guns have played a major role. Our founding fathers used guns to defend and take over America. They have placed amendments in the constitution to ensure that we will always have guns. The liberals have been calling on taking away guns and making very strict gun control laws. Gun control doesn't work look at Chicago for instance they have some of the highest crime rates but yet they have some of the strictest gun laws.
