Service users can be at risk if communication is not adhered to, they could deteriorate due to lack of communication or because the support worker is in a rush and is to busy to listen. Service user’s needs must always be met, communication is essential for the care to be carried out. We have senior meetings every month followed by staff meetings for all.

I received induction for 12 hours, and training when I first joined the company, which provided specialised training relating to the learning disability sector. I receive regular supervision with my line manager, where I can discuss any problems, and get support. I can also request training, and my manager can highlight areas where she thinks I would benefit from further training in. I attend regular refresher courses in training, so that I am up to date with the current standards required for my role. I treat all service users with respect and dignity, and my work practices reflect and promote equal opportunities.
As the Registered Manager I ensure that all policy and procedures of the Home are carried out and followed by myself and the team and ensure that good practises are followed. To enable this is followed effectively regular sessions are carried out in the form of regular Team Meetings, Development Day, personal and group supervisions.
