Writing made her happy because she was able to confide in her diary. She considered it her friend since she couldn’t have any friends while hiding. It was what she was best at. Her diary was just very inspiring and touching that now, her diary has been translated into so many languages. Now people all around the world can read and see the impact Anne has made on
She was the kind of teacher that would go out of her way to get a little attention from her students, and she was a very caring woman. Mrs. Gruell was most defiantly a good teacher in my eyes. An example of her being a good teacher was when she had the author of the book Anne Frank come to talk to her class of her courageous days during to Holocaust. In the movie Freedom Writers there were numerous scenes that were surprising to me. There was one scene in particular that stood out more than others.
Good morning everyone, today I will introduce an important character from both the film and the novel ‘Holes’. Her name is Kissing Kate Barlow. She is a primary school teacher. She is kind and responsible (for example: she always wants to help people to learn to read and write). She and an onion picker are in love his name is Sam.
Because of this, I feel that her students learned a lot and will be prepared for their test. I learned a lot in this science class. I always knew that reviews were helpful to students, especially young ones, but today I learned about the fashion in which a review is best delivered. I was able to see students excelling and students struggling. By the end of the class, many students were better able to understand the lesson and probably improved from a possible “D” on the upcoming test to a “B” or even “A.” I learned that when you involved technology and visuals in your lessons and reviews, so much can be accomplished.
Maryanne said she likes to learn English by speaking, writing, looking at pictures and working with friends. With the help of a Multiple Intelligence questionnaire (Multiple Intelligences and Language Learning, 2005 Alta Book Publishers), I determined that she has high linguistic intelligence, visual/spatial intelligence and interpersonal intelligence. This proves that she learns best by seeing, speaking, visualizing and hearing the language, and working in groups with other students. Maryanne is confident while using the present tense and uses it extensively to talk about most things. In one of the few instances where her grammar was perfect, she said, “I want to improve my English.” Maryanne often states the main subject of the sentence at the beginning of her sentence.
Views of Death “When Death Comes,” by Mary Oliver, is the best poem I read in our class. The poem was clear and easy to comprehend; it had similes and good comparisons; it spoke about living life to the fullest; and it was inspirational. I thought the poet was masterful in describing what she wanted to accomplish and to feel once her life was over. Using a first-person technique to articulate what she wanted from life was also effective. The phrase that was used to begin the poem, “When Death Comes,” was repeated four times to let the reader be ready for what was to come after that.
I began to read this book because of all the recommendations I have received on it. My friends, my sister, and my mother had all loved the book and the author so I decided to give it a try. By choosing this book, it gives others a sense of who I am as a reader, in showing others that I like to relate to the stories I read. In My Sister’s Keeper, I can relate to Anna’s love and hate for her sister. My sister and I don’t get along too well most of the time and occasionally an “I hate you!” comes out of one of our mouths, but when it comes down to it, the love in our hearts, no matter how deep, can always keep us together.
So beings that I was curious about everything I did not turn her down. It was one on one teaching so I knew it would be easier for me to learn. It was easy for her to assign the rest of the class work and dedicate her time to one student. I remember the first book we started with was “Dick and Jane”. I was struggling at first, but I finally started to get the words flowing out of
Her purpose was to show how hard work and dedication payoff well for those that apply themselves. This was written as a reflection of her own life and what has made her who she is today. The audience of this essay spans many generations. Young girls may enjoy reading this to learn from her experience. Someone older may read it as inspiration to not quit because things are too difficult in balancing work, school, and life.
On the other hand, in U.S., teachers apply practical method in teaching. For example, my teacher introduced me some great books of well-known authors and expected me to read one book per week. These helped me improve vocabulary and reading skill. Besides, she offered me useful websites to learn English and to do homework better. Sometimes I was watched fantastic films which made me interesting with English.
