However stress levels may also increase due to the addiction itself, e.g. developing family problems/ financial difficulties. The addiction occurs as the result of an interaction between action of drug and distress. However we cannot establish cause and effect from studies relating stress to addiction as stress may be the result and not the cause of addiction.

Discriminatory practices are very influential on the people that use health and social care services; I will explain these effects and give examples. (1) Marginalisation is when you feel like you are not liked within a group or in other words you don’t feel like you are a part of a group or society.In health and social care everyone should be treated equal and marginalisation is not allowed. An example of this is a youth worker excluding a homosexual teenager based on his sexuality. (1) Disempowerment is to make someone feel devalued this could happen to either an individual or groups. The victim could be discriminated by a valued group/individual or powerful group/individual.
If a child has a family who lives in poverty this may affect delinquency if the child comes from a family with little to no education. If a child comes from a family who is poverty stricken and they live in a low income neighborhood surrounded by violence or criminal acts that’s all they are learning to do. If a child sees a parent, sibling, cousin and so on selling drugs they may be influenced to sell drugs also. If the people in the child’s family are not setting good examples the child is observing their behavior and will most likely will repeat the behavior. Broken homes contributed to delinquent behavior and the child is more susceptible to antisocial behavior.

In certain situations putting a child or a young person in a foster home would be an advantage to some families if they are having really bad problems. For e.g. if the parents are going through a divorce and the child is distraught about the situation it would be good if the child is put into a foster home temporarily. If a child or a young person is getting into the wrong crowd for e.g. taking drugs or selling drugs and doing illegal things it would be best if the family of the young person puts them into a foster home so they have professional help.
For example a doctor may take blood pressure and the heart rate of a patient and use it to find a treatment. Another reason why research is useful to Health and Social Care is highlighting gaps in provision. The Health and Social care needs of the community can rise and fall. Government and local authorities then use research to gather data on a local and national scale. They use this research to monitor that the services provided are acceptable.

Versus people that potentially have a mental illness. The reason for this stigmatize is that people do not view addiction as a medical problem, more of an issue that people can control. Were being an addict and having a mental illness both full under a medical problem.
The term "community health" refers to the health status of a defined group of people, and the actions and conditions that protect and improve the health of the community. Those individuals who make up a community live in a localized area under the same general regulations, norms, values, and organizations. The actions that protect and improve community health can be organized into three areas: health promotion, health protection, and health services. These efforts relates to these private sectors that do everything they need to do to improve the health of the community. There are many different diseases that go around that can affect the wellbeing of community health.
