When creating an ethical long term care facility you must create a strong mission statement as well as a value statement this lets the families which are considering long term facilities for there loved one will be more interested in having a facility that offers so many programs plus the loving and caring atmosphere. She donated money to the Children Hospital in Los Angeles, Ca. She founded a foundation for women whose husbands, would kicked them out of their house or hit them. She help them find a career, help get a house of there own. Also she would pay for for children's surgeries if parents couldn't pay for them. Nurses are given assignments based on the number of staff present and not on the acuity of the patient therefore affecting the patient’s outcome. A co-worker of mine was given an assignment with seven patient including a fresh post op. Sorry to say that patient was found dead from internal bleeding because the nurse was overwhelmed with her assignment did not do a proper assessment. She was taken off the floor and given other duties while the case is being reviewed. And after a year she took early retirement.

The YWCA offers many resources to women that find themselves battling abuse and many other resources for women and children. Since domestic violence in a frequent problem in families the YWCA also offers transitional housing for women and children which includes private rooms, HUD subsidize, and childcare to the women that live there. The YWCA mission and vision is “YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all” www.ywcancin.org. They also offer groups that focus on chemical dependency, economic empowerment, and sexual assault.
