Long Term Facility 2 The word long-term care may scare many people because as every person knows they will grow elder one day and need assistance in everyday living skills it is hard to think about. There are many for profit long-term facilities, which have not been granted the best names because of the care the patients receive in the facilities from the staff members and living conditions. The non-profit long-term facilities have been shown to be more caring and have better treatment and living conditions. When choosing a facility the mission statement is extremely important to those who are choosing the facility for a loved one. Money is a concern for the Everlasting Breeze but providing the patients with care that is ethical, moral and caring is much more important. The reason the organization chose to be non-profit is that the level of care in non-profit organizations shows to be completely different from for profit organizations in the sense of treatment from the staff to the patients. The Everlasting Breeze has a mission statement that is breathtaking and gives the feeling of care and compassion when it is reads, “Everlasting Breeze provides a caring and comfortable feeling to adults whom require special care in the Myrtle Beach area. Everlasting Breeze staff and volunteers are compassionate and interested in caring for those in need. The staff and there residents hold friendships that will last a lifetime. Everlasting Breeze is a non-profit long-term facility that offers a range of activities and programs to ensure that residents have healthy interaction with others; individual sessions are also available for those who need additional therapy or have special needs. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in enhancing the quality of life and promoting wellness. When creating an ethical long term care facility you must create a strong mission statement as well as a value statement this lets the families which are considering long term facilities for there loved one will be more interested in having a facility that offers so many programs plus the loving and caring atmosphere. The importance of running a non profit facility is the fact of having a caring staff and volunteers many for profit facilities are known to many as being unethical and unmoral this is not true with the Everlasting breeze the workers take pride in what they do and love there residents as if they are family. All facilities should focus on having a strong team and mission statement for there facility to provide quality service to the residents and loved ones.
