Britain had used combination of force as well as divides and conquers to control India Up until this point. So the sources limitations towards showing Lord Curzon’s successes come from the lack of successful viceroys previously. From the British point of view of which the source is written this could hold some more significance as what they wanted from the Viceroy varied from the Indians. The British just wanted to maintain control in India, while Indian perspective would be more focused on the way the country is being looked after. Source three goes quite far to indicate that Lord Curzon was in fact a successful Viceroy by highlighting one big mistake made by him “the partition of Bengal would be Curzon’s nemesis”.
Another myth he busted was of him having the title of being a leader. In all actuality, his followers are just as much leaders as he is. He encourages creative thinking and is more of a supporter of new ideas than a creator of them. Also, just because he is a leader does not mean that coercion, manipulation has to take place in order for duties to be executed. He is a very relaxed and laid back individual who does not have regular board meetings or a huge corporation whereas many organizations do.
President Clinton was not really a person that wanted the CIA to be involved in any covert operations or wanting to make world transformations and this made Tenet an important person to Clinton. Tenet was very experienced and even though there was a high turnover rate for the CIA directors, once Tenet was in place he was one in which loved what he did and he enjoyed where he worked and he also enjoyed the people he worked with. Many individuals that had worked with Tenet felt good about his role and his leadership. The attitude and charisma that Tenet displayed made his lack of qualifications for the position to be overlooked but the morale boost that Tenet gave the CIA department is what most liked about Tenet. George Tenet had begun to build up supporters from all sides of the political realm.
Inexperienced team members are given clear direction making it easier and understandable for them. It enables public service groups to be deployed quickly and efficiently and also allows large-scale coordination with other units. Disadvantages of this can include that it doesn’t allow the team members to take responsibility or use initiative which would make them unable to stand out from the team. Motivation is usually acquired through fear rather that respect. Teams respect is usually based on their ranks rather than these qualities and skills.
These are the view things that Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson had the same beliefs on. They also both believed that by the people of the nation was a candidate for president best chosen. Even though they didn’t have a lot of the same beliefs they both had peoples respect. And they also were pretty successful at being president. All the other ideas in the Jeffersonian Democracy and Jacksonian Democracy were different.
Weatherford’s portrayal of Genghis Khan is “a progressive leader whose primary mission was to bring peace, not war, throughout his empire”. Though Weatherford’s perspective on Genghis Khan may be a little over the top with romanticism, he is not too far off what I have come to believe about him. The many accomplishments of Genghis Khan heavily outnumber all else that he did. Like Emperor Qin Shi Huang of the Qin Dynasty, Genghis Khan probably had more of an intention of uniting rather than destroying. If he had an intention of just causing havoc and war, then he would not have ended up encouraging trade and enlightening himself and those around him of foreign cultures.
The United Kingdom’s s uncodified constitution relies heavily on established conventions and trust in order to prevent widespread corruption. To some extent this type of constitution historically has served the UK well. However, due to increasing disillusion with politicians and their ethics. Which some claim to be the result of more transparency and a higher level of education. UK citizen are more informed and able to make analytical judgements in their best interest, this in turn, challenges the authority of the state to decide what is in our best interest.
It gives the reader a sense of the standards and ideals of the citizens of the time. This book allows the reader to gain much respect for JFK and the troubles he went through. There were many things happening behind the scenes that the citizens did not know of but now allow us to recognize how hard the job of president was at the time. This bibliography also shows that the president is not always an upstanding citizen and at some time or another messes up but as long as they own up to the fact that they are not perfect, the American people will show them a great sense of respect for their
A good leader is one who may have some “dirt” in his/her record but acknowledges his imperfections and continues for the betterment of his organization or mission. Bill Clinton in the opinion of this writer has had numerous personal discretions that he that was intended for the attempted to differentiate from his role as leader of the United States of America. Charisma is also a trait of an effective leader. A charismatic leader can draw others to himself and mission by employing empathy and respect for his colleagues despite their possible differences. Although Mr. Clinton is a past U.S. president, he is recognized as a leader in the global arena because of his willingness to adapt various skill sets when
In addition, the States had socially influenced Canada greatly, in terms of culture. Canada did gain some political independence, hampered by the fact that Canada depended on the United States for much of its social and economic success. Canada’s prime minister, Mackenzie King, did not follow the regular rules set by Britain. Instead he refused to send Canadian troops with Britain to invade Turkey in 1922. (Cranny p.55) Normally, when Britain went to war, Canada would automatically be at war as well, but King took a big step in not following orders from the mother country.
