Emergency Evaluation Michelle Maez University of Phoenix Building Community in Human Services Organizations BSHS 461 Brooke Frost September 10, 2012 Emergency Evaluation In what ways could the agency have prevented this situation? The agency could have implemented an information system that would track the agency’s performance so that program objectives could be met. For example, the agency could have had a tracking system to maintain the training project. The use of a tracking system would have kept the records of the participants participating in the training workshops. A project manager should have been in place at the start of the project. The project manager would have overseen the training project to make sure the objectives of the training project were on task. What appears to be the scope and purpose of the federal evaluation? Scope and purpose of the federal evaluation was to see how many men, women, and children participated in the training project. They want the ages of all the trainees, their sex, their employment their income, and all the demographics. Why did this cause such a situation? The agency, and the evaluator were both at fault. The agency did not have the documentation in order. The data from the training project was unreliable. The agency had outdated forms. With all the data the agency did collect for the training project, the agency did not know how to put the data together to satisfy the evaluator. The evaluator did not give the agency enough notice to get all the data needed for the evaluation. If the agency had more notice from the evaluator, the evaluation process would have been more reliable. What issues and challenges might the evaluator face? The training project may be lacking in policies and procedures. The evaluator may have to decide if the data collected by the agency is
