Critics of the form say that in our age of technology the internet has made sources too readily available and therefore the essay type is obsolete. Yet, there are professors that would disagree and state they are encouraging students to think unconventionally. With good evidence on both sides of the argument it is hard to decide if this is an effective means of evaluation. There are more effective ways of assessing knowledge such as other types of essays and oral presentations.
Most people find reading books easier so don’t some people like me because I prefer researching on the internet to searching for stuff in the library. Some people will support Carr by saying that the internet really makes us dumber but I’m on the opposite side because I defiantly think it makes as smarter especially with this technology that keeps improving as years come. However; if possible, the invention of teleporting and time travel machine could really make a change in the future. It could save the government a lot of most in transportations.
