Chick-Fil-A’s chicken sandwiches may be healthier but McDonalds food overall is better. The only thing that Chick-Fil-A has to offer is chicken, chicken, and more chicken. At Mickey D’s, they offer chicken, burgers, salads, and even fish sandwiches. Why go to a restaurant that’s one sided in their food choices (chicken), when you can go to one that has chicken and more? From my perspective, I want variety in my food choices because it’s simply more food to choose from.
The footnote, and 6. The Percent Daily Value (%DV). Serving size is really important to look at on the Nutrition Facts, it is important because the calories listed on the label show calories for only one serving. So if the package has three servings, and the calories show 250 per serving, and you eat the whole package, you have just consumed a total of 750 calories, not 250. Three and four on the label list the nutrients that the food has.
Though these fast food visits also count for a majority of the protein I eat. The chipotle visit, though high in calories, accounted for 78 grams of protein, which is much more than a days worth. Chipotle was also the meal with the highest amount of carbs, accounting for over 200 grams. On day 5 I drank some milk which accounted for the most Calcium with 700 milligrams. The French onion soup I prepared on day one accounted for the most Iron at 6.6 milligrams.
Everything also felt somewhat eco-friendly, and there were informative blurbs placed strategically informing the customers as to the health benefits of their meat supplements. I personally expected that the meal would feel rather differently from a typical meal, being a meat-eater myself, but I found that the meal was surprisingly pleasant. I did not feel stuffed or too full after the meal. I usually find myself feeling this way after a typical meal eaten out. I also noticed that for sides, rather than the typical French fries that are offered at restaurants, the choices were cabbage slaw and chili.
McDonald’s burgers are lighter than Burger Kings, and weigh only 100 grams, whereas Burger Kings weigh 120 grams. The same person who takes the order at McDonald’s is the same person that serves the food, however this does not apply in the drive-thru if both windows are operating. Burger king is set up more like an assembly line, one person takes your order, and another person serves the food. McDonald’s also makes all their burgers at one time, in mass production and they are fried, then when you place your order they can add additional toppings on that you ask for. Examples would be ketchup, mustard, mayo, pickles, lettuce, depending on which sandwich has been ordered.
Calories are a measurement of the energy potential in food, however, eating too many can add to your waistline. Next to the calorie measurement per serving, the calories-from-fat is listed as a separate number. This number tells you how many "bad" calories are in a serving. If the total calories are 200 and the calories-from-fat are 100, then half the calories come from fat content, as opposed to healthy nutrients. Look hard at the following ingredients listed, especially the fats, which can contribute to heart disease, high blood pressure and some cancers.
There was plenty of fruit, but there were little vegetables shown in the diet. Specific foods that provided the most fiber in my days’ meals were strawberry yogurt (35%) and honeydew melon (35%). On the other hand, strawberries, water-melon, blueberries, and salad provided the least percentages of fiber content. Food choice trends that might affect fiber intakes consist of: balancing my liquid consumptions and adding other green leafy vegetables to the dietary regimen, such as greens, asparagus, cabbage, and spinach in order to provide a higher percentage of fiber than fruit alone. Dietary
In addition of the diet exercise is added to the system to increase in the efficiency. The energy density in the food is what is considered in the diet. The energy density of food is calculated by the amount of calories that are contained in the food. The type of food that has high density of energy does not lead to give a sensation of fullness to one who consumes it. In the dieting system they apply the concept that if they do not feel full they will keep eating leading to accumulation of high calories in their bodies which will cause them to become obese.
Tonight for example I ate two beef and cheddar sandwiches, and a medium curly fry from Arby’s. Then I chased that down with a 20 ounce Mountain Dew. I also tend to eat more junk food than I do regular meals. This consists of chips, and sweets which I know are foods that are not good for me. These are what I call my comfort foods.
