Culture and Art
Culture can be taken in so many ways to different people. It can be defined as art, literature, and music. Culture is a natural development that you receive at birth and you are building your identity as a human or an animal. It’s living in a group to group environment. For most societies culture is one individual behind who broadens or establishes the cultures status for example our president of the United States could be that individual.
Art is also something can be defined by many in a different way, it’s all about perspective and ideas. I look and think of art of something created of beautiful or significant things. Visual Arts are experienced by sight such as; paintings, photography or sculptures. It’s whatever your eye may see that considers artful it a visual art (page xxiv) Music surrounds us, you hear music in malls, doctors offices, business offices, and even elevators. It is everywhere from all sorts of cultures and countries. Our technology has expanded so much that it has given us the opportunity to listen to it everywhere we go. It’s in our cars; we now have walkmans, iPods, MP’s. It is now offered to us everywhere (page xxx.) Literature can be fiction or nonfiction poetry and prose. One poet defined poetry as “the best words in the best order.” (page xxviii) Prose is not a form of poetry and not all prose is literature, journalism and technical writing is informative. Fiction literature is work of your imagination that can be long and complex like in a novel or a play. Nonfiction literature may include explanation, persuasion, commentary, exposition, or a blend of all of these (page xxix.) Architecture is a form of buildings and structures. It is a combination of visual arts and practical fiction of artist expression. Buildings are built for shelters it answers social needs of our societies (page xxvii.)
