In one supermarket, they placed a few beers on a top shelf in a cereal aisle and it sat unnoticed as shoppers picked up cereals around it. When asked after they checked out, every shopper stated that they were unaware of the beers that were there. It is vey important that items are placed correctly in a supermarket because the markets for beer drinkers are not going to be looking in the cereal aisle for beer. The film also illustrates a young teenager and a young woman that are very frequent shoppers. This young teenager is only thirteen years old and has the need to go shopping almost every weekend, and the young lady is grown but has an addiction to a specific designer named Chloe.
When I headed to the meat department, I’ve notice that a worker was restocking on meats and I took the opportunity to ask him how much it would cost them to put these items on the shelf while holding up my “Thirsty” paper towels and store brand ketchup. The worker gave me a strange look and asked “why are you asking this?” I told the worker that my family was planning to operate their own grocery market and wanted to learn some information as to how Safeway operates their market. The worker ignored me and went up to a nearby customer and asked him if he needed any help, the response was a simple “no thanks.” I knew that the worker was trying to avoid me so I stayed close and when he finally looked at me, he gave me the answer of “I’m not sure I have to ask me boss about that.” I did not get the answer that I wanted but I did pay for two cheap items that would have normally cost me around
The manager Lengel does not seem to be too strict at first but has his ways I feel. Reading the story in first person we see the day in the life at work through Sammy’s eyes. He sees three girls come into the grocery story with only swim suites on. He nick names theses girls as “plaid, big tall goon goony, and queenie.” These names come to him I feel as the way that he sees the girls and how they carry themselves. Sammy keeps his eyes on them while they are shopping and in my eyes I feel that his way of watching over them.
Walgreens is known as a pharmacy, yet the pharmacy counter is usually located in the farthest corner with no signs or design showing customers how to get there. This layout goes against their advertising of being convenient, since majority of its customers are only there for a quick trip to the pharmacy. Also, Walgreens stores are highly filled with unneeded merchandise. They come off to customers as overcrowded and with the portrayal of merchandise stacked all the way to the
The Villain! My customer service villain is one of the cashiers at the Dollar Store on Lancaster. After recently moving back to the Salem area, I’ve been exploring my new surroundings. On a trip to the dollar store, searching for birthday decorations for my son’s first birthday, I walked in to a long line and one cashier. It’s a pretty
The company started off to a slow start in technology where they were taking inventory on paper and they also didn’t have a website where customers could view information about the store and even order items (Kudler Fine Foods). The company has made a lot of changes that has helped the organization grown and to add customers to its three stores that they have up and running. Kudler has set up a website to where their customers will be able to view the items that they have on stock and other information about their products. They also have information about the organization on that website and offer customers the opportunity to order products from off of the website. Also they will be able to get feedback from customers from the website.
Christine A. Rosario CGMT/555 System Analysis and Development January 16, 2012 Ellis Hodgon Introduction Kudler Fine Foods is a gourmet grocery store for those savvy shoppers who are searching for the finest meats, produce, cheeses, and wine. Kudler Fine Foods was established in 1998 when Kathy Kudler fulfilled her vision of establishing her own gourmet food store. Kathy had a passion for gourmet foods but found that her particular neighborhood just did not have a wide selection of products to choose from. Although she had no experience in operating a gourmet food shop, she believed that a one-stop shopping experience at a place with lots of variety and reasonable prices would be successful. Kudler has opened a second
Her father Louie did the entire house work and provided for Marguax and her mother; while he complained that neither of them did anything or appreciated him at all. She explains that “he did all the cooking and cleaning in our household, saying my mother was only capable of taking our clothes to be laundered; and buy groceries at the nearby mart…she always overbought and overspent,
I remember a story my mom told to me. One of the employees working at my family’s business was receiving food stamps before she had gotten the job. Because she had gotten a job, she was unqualified for food stamps, even though she really needed them. Her sister worked at the local grocery store as a cashier and dealt with people using food stamps all the time. One day, a man came through her
Response Paper: A&P The short story, “A & P” by John Updike is a about a teenager named Sammy that works at a grocery store. In the story, three girls walk into the store in nothing but bathing suits and we follow Sammy’s reaction to the events that occur because of them. This story relates to my life because I also work at a grocery store. While I was reading this I felt like I could relate to many of the things that Sammy had to go through while he was working. The first thing that I related to from the story was the way that Sammy felt when he accidentally made a mistake with a customer’s order.
