Abstract In this paper you will see how the changes in technology help Kudler Fine Foods become a better organization and all opportunities to come to play within the company. Its shows how they developed a website for customers use and also how they created a system where they can take their inventory that is shelved, stored and that was sold better then keeping up with it on paper. You will see information about the generic strategies and an overview of that they are about. The company started off to a slow start in technology where they were taking inventory on paper and they also didn’t have a website where customers could view information about the store and even order items (Kudler Fine Foods). The company has made a lot of changes that has helped the organization grown and to add customers to its three stores that they have up and running. Kudler has set up a website to where their customers will be able to view the items that they have on stock and other information about their products. They also have information about the organization on that website and offer customers the opportunity to order products from off of the website. Also they will be able to get feedback from customers from the website. Kudler has moved away from taking inventory on paper to using computer software to manage the items that are sold, shelved and items that are in the back to be placed on the shelves. By the company getting this new technology within their organization they will be able to maintain everything smoother then before (Kudler Fine Foods). They will be being able to allow customer to use the website to see what they store has before they get there and see what sales that are going on at that particular time. There are three generic strategies which are differentiation strategy, focus strategy and cost leadership strategy. These strategies show the organizations strengths and looks at the size and composition that the organization tents to target (Porter’s Generic Strategy). There are firms that have a combination of all three strategies where organizations become successful by the way that they pursued cost leadership strategy with low market share where they focus on their market’s use but become profitable by making their customers happy and coming back for more products (Porter’s Generic Strategy). When it comes to Kudler Fine Food they show aspect of using all three generic strategies but the one that they show the most of is differentiation strategy. When an organization uses differentiation it uses the goods and services of the company to satisfy the needs of its customers with competitive advantages. This allows the companies to lower their price and focus on the values that generate a comparative of higher price and a better margin. It benefits of differentiation require producers to segment markets in order to target goods and services at specific levels of the organization and generate a higher then average price.
