So much of our industrial food turns out to be rearrangements of corn. Process analysis writing involves writing to give instructions on how to do something or to describe how something is done. Pollan wrote a book on rules for eating. The main message he wanted everyone to take out is: eat food, not too much, mostly plants. Pollan mentions Twinkies and non-dairy creamer as often as he does because he doesn’t want us to eat it because they can be readily identified as something not “whole”.

In Amanda Hesser's essay "Shop Write", she enumerates the different ways people write their grocery lists and how one can infer a person's character based on a small piece of writing. People write a list of their neccesities, and sometimes their vices, then go to grocery stores to buy them. Some people write on their list the word "food", as if it were like getting a gas or picking up a dry cleaning as Hesser's says (97). People usually buy the same kind of products everytime they shop. When they see the word "food" on their list, they will automatically get their usual brand or kind of food they buy, as if it is a routine.

1. It will take Kristen's Cookie Company 26 minutes to fill a rush order of one dozen because washing the bowl and beaters, adding the ingredients and mixing the ingredients takes 6 minutes; spooning the cookies takes 2 minutes per dozen; putting the cookies in the oven takes 1 minute; cooking time is 9 minutes; letting them cool takes 5 minutes; it takes 2 minutes to pack each box; and it takes 1 minute to accept payment. All of these processes add up to 26 minutes. 2. Assuming Kristen's Cookie Company is open for four hours each night, Kristen's Cookie Company can successfully complete 22 orders of a dozen cookies each.
Kenneth implemented the philosophy of value by selling packages of cookies and other products such as almond bark, four packages for $1.00, to grocers in a five-county area. A sales force personally took orders, delivered product, and stocked shelves. When many salesmen left the Sathers’ business, it left him shorthanded. Hence, as a stop-gap measure, Sathers management offered discounts to the customers who would order by telephone and stock their own shelves. This was essentially his start of telephone marketing.
Building a Great Sandwich People may wonder why they leave a sub shop one day with a perfect sandwich and leave another day with a sloppy sub. Well to answer that question it is because that the sandwich artist either did not care or had not been trained well. There are certain things a sandwich artist has to do in order to prepare a beautiful and neat sandwich. First they must be able to memorize cutting the bread because if the bread is not cut correctly then the sub will be messed up. They must know meat and veggie formula because food cost will rise if the proper formula is not followed.
