Sacrifice was something that I had to learn to tolerate when returning to school. Spending time with my family became less of a benefit that I once enjoyed and that many take for granted. Sleep deprivation and personal time was also something that returning to school had an impact on. Study habits are difficult to maintain and focus, due to my children wanting my attention non-stop. My parents support in this process has been a blessing as they’ve taken much of the burden therefore providing peaceful nights and lessening some of the stormy days.
Teachers and professors think the Web is great to a certain point though. Teachers have noticed students are carried away by the Web because they are focusing less on reading. Carr agrees, “…. They don’t necessarily read a page from left to right and from top to bottom. They might instead skip around, scanning for pertinent information of interest… I can’t get my students to read whole books anymore…” (318).
The Access course is designed to give people like myself, that have too few or no qualifications, the opportunity to gain entry into higher education. It prepares for study at degree level and after successfully achieving the certificate, enables the student to attend university. Access to Higher Education in Nursing covered all the modules required and was the obvious choice given the profession I wanted to undertake. Being a parent to two young children and travelling to college to study full time whilst juggling childcare with no family support network was simply an impossible task. I did not want this to hinder my dream of going to university and following the career path that I have wanted for so long.
The parents often decide for the best books for the kids. The third target segment will be students who buy books due to necessity, i.e., buy books not due to hobby or interest but out of compulsion. In my older life, and particularly within my job role, this has taught me that I can be emphatic and sympathetic towards people. I have always been interested in history, including my own family history. When I was young, I would sit for hours on end listening to grandmas stories of her own background and where she came from. This has given me a sense of my own self and has taught me how to be a good listener with the people that I care for in my working life. My parents always showed great dignity and respect for other people, their own parents, aunts, and uncles.

He became a good collector of thoughts, but usually lacked his own opinion. Reading helped make him a more confident English speaker and writer. Education had changed his family’s life. In the book Rodriguez takes every thing that his teachers say at face value and he never questions if perhaps they could be wrong or mistaken on subjects. In school Rodriguez read acclaimed literary books: Great Expectations, Crime and Punishment, The Scarlet Letter, and Wuthering Heights. Which his teachers praised him for considering the books were a bit advanced for his grade and for the fact that other students lacked the ambition to read them. So he decides to be really ambitious and he wants to impress his teacher with his new reading choice. So he decides and tells his teacher that he wants to read the bible but the teacher (nun) feels that it is out of his reading comprehension and would be difficult for him to understand.
