The first text has a lot of text but text two has barely text. In extract one, the blog post, the author speaks about being a mother and how she knows ‘the best of mothers’. Allison Tate starts of by saying farewell to the best of mothers and wives. She then goes on to introduce Katy Gerke who was possibly the best mother. The author gives importance to how Katy Gerke had read all 1,200 pages of the Lord of the Rings trilogy to her three young sons.
It allows speaking languages fluently and to communicate spontaneously. Therefore, the book can be faithful friend and the nearest into us which can guide us to how to behave in our practical life. Books have done far more for me, personally, than anything else in my life except good parenting skills displayed by my parents. Reading increases my vocabulary, aids in refreshing myself, and allows me the opportunity to see the world through someone else’s eyes. As they may have done for others, books do increase my vocabulary.
The relationship with the divine is meant to give an individual life direction and depth in its greatest form. For instance, the Hinduism faith “worship one Being of ultimate oneness (Brahman) through infinite representations of gods and goddesses” (Adamson, n.d., n.p). This relationship ultimately will free an individual from karma and reincarnation. Another example is Christianity. Christians focus is not so much on rituals and good deeds, but more so the relationship with God and getting to God personally.
In an article by EAM he states that ‘what people believe to be the nature of humans to be is a very personal belief. That belief is shaped by the religion they follow, the culture they grew up in, and by their life experiences’. This writer’s opinion is that people are inherently good and this has developed gradually over time. Another reason for this viewpoint is that we are all created in God’s image and by God to serve him now if that is the case then people would be inherently good, as God is. Determining whether or not people are good or bad also comes from life experiences.

A critical view of person-centered therapy A counselor is often viewed as a good model of what it means to be wise and the patient’s friend, a person with great capacity to listen and be respectful. Perhaps this is one of the reasons that person-centered therapy has been so warmly embraced within significant portions of the religious community as it appears to give us valuable clues and guidance on how to respond to those in misery and distress, or better said “love the brothers and sisters.” In comparison with other theories of counseling and psychotherapy there is none to embrace the full manifestation of the humanistic spirit in contemporary psychology than the person-centered theory, and perhaps no single individual better embodied its essence than its founder, Carl Rogers. Person-centered therapy asserts that the client, not the therapist, should be at the heart of psychotherapy since only the client has the resources by which to become more aware of and remove his or her obstacles to personal growth. It is significant to know that Carl Rogers grew up in a fundamentalist Christian home and rejected the faith of his parents during college in favor of “Liberalistic Humanism” (Van Belle, 1985b, p. 1016). Person-centered therapy warmly embraces a number of key values (adapted from Korchin, 1976, pp.
As she writes to her, she explains how happy she is with her life at that point in time. In the sentence, “I am so happy. I got love, I got work, I got money, friends and time.” Walker expresses the use of first person narration which creates a more intimate and personal view into how Celie feels. With this sense of connection, the reader responds with dramatic views that give a good input to a better understanding on the concept of change. Changes in relationships are a very common form of alteration that is conveyed throughout the pages of this epistolary novel.
Moreover, the most important part of my personal philosophy is my faith. I believe God created us with special gifts and purpose. I have known one of my gifts since I was a child, the gift of serving others, but I have recently incorporated that gift with my purpose in life, which is to serve God. In my future practice as a nurse I would like to incorporate these beliefs and values that have made me who I am today. I once read the definition of Christian nursing written in the book Called to Care, “Christian nursing is defined as a ministry of compassionate care for the whole person, in
When our energies are aligned and in balance, we experience a much more real connection- like stated earlier- with everything in the universe. Not only that but our physical, mental, and emotional health, as the way we perceive things improves when feeling positive emotional conectiveness with the universe. Without this connection, I feel as though I'd still be stuck in a dark mind set. The issues and ideas I wanted to channel and explore into my future artworks is mostly along the lines of what spiritual awakening is displayed in pictures and images to show the feelings and experiences that come along with it and how your perspective on many
Purpose Sanders’ Spiritual Leadership begins with an initial assumption that readers are looking to begin or strengthen their leadership skills as it relates to the ongoing work of God in the world and through the body of Christ. He takes the readers through many examples of sacred and secular attributes of what leadership looks like and provides examples of various styles. The quest to become a leader, or better leader, is a good one, yet Sanders does not want to give a false impression of the realities of spiritual leadership. The needs, responsibilities, cost and perils of leadership are plainly put forth to be straight forward with the reader of all that could and will be required of spiritual leadership positions. Believing that God is searching for leaders to bring about changes on the earth, he begins the book by highlighting the principle: true greatness, true leadership, is found in giving yourself in service to others, not in manipulating others to serve you, admonishing, “we must put more into life that we take out," and that history will only remember a man for "the quality of his deeds and the character of his mind and heart" (15).
