I noticed an Accelerated Reading section in the back corner of the room where students could take tests without being interrupted by other students. There were several different academic posters all over the walls for students to reference to during lessons. I noticed a small group section in the front of the classroom where two students were sitting during my observation. The classroom rules were posted on the side wall where students were easily able to see them. The organization of the room allowed for successful learning and definitely attributed to successful classroom management.
The group of students is divided into two groups, based on their entry-level skills. Two of the students that need constant prompts or cues sit at a table with the paraprofessional. The other students are seated at tables with a peer to assist them with transitions. However, the other four are seated within proximity, to where the special education teacher sits when she is in the classroom. The student that has a calculator always keeps it on top of his table, and the paraprofessional is constantly reminding him to use it.
Camilo atehortua 5/7/11 The martin family is a big family. With 6 kids. 4 girls and 2 boys. All the 4 girls get along with each other and the boys really don’t get along because they are always arguing about stuff like games, clothing, rooms, and who is the best an strongest. The girls are always going out on Fridays to the movies.
Thus, many times foreign children have already been exposed to what they are currently learning in America. Findings- Informal and Formal Assessments I observed Mateo on 3 separate occasions. The first was conducted in class. The other two were done individually in my room. I observed him in class because I wanted to see how he interacted with the teacher, his peers and the text that was presented.
Environment- There are 18 children in the class. Miss. Elaine and Miss. Diana are the teachers in the classroom. I was very impressed when I walked into this classroom and actually looked around the room.
We were in the same after-school dance class and he was constantly talking to other people. There were only 3 kids in my grade that were in the class: me, my friend Spencer, and this other guy Patrick. Since I had developed a small relationship with Spencer, I tended to hang around him and talk with the people he was talking with. Eventually, Spencer and I started talking and making jokes about everything. He introduced me to music and videos that I had not been a fan of before and developed a small connection with me.
One of the most positive learning experiences I had during my school years was my first year of primary school this being year 3. Walking into the classroom the teacher had arranged the tables in groups of four which encouraged us students to talk and problem solve amongst each other. The classroom was warm and bright with various posters along the wall this included math problems, math symbols, numbers and math equations. I also recall my teacher at the time would select students randomly to solve the problems on the chalk board and if a student got stuck this was when the remainder of students were encouraged to put their hand up and help solve the equation. This would make the lesson fun and seem like a challenging game.
11:10- When Kaptain is all done and full, he smiles a lot more and wants to play more. He tries to talk to Suzie making little sounds. I watched Suzie try and put him to sleep but with so much going on the curious boy didn't think it was time to go to sleep. He wined out her arm and crawled back to the kids playing. The older kids are told to watch out for the younger babies that cant move so fast.
* At GHS (Greenwich High School in Greenwich CT) every classroom has a Smart-board, which is especially useful when integrating technology into daily lessons. * I teach 10th grade American History and 11th grade AP Comparative Government and Politics, so I typically start my Do Now’s with a political cartoon or news clip on the Smart-board that students can observe/watch or analyze prior to the lesson and then make connections between that event and the Essential Question of the unit and day. * You can also write directly onto a Smart-board, which makes it especially useful. 2.) How often are the textbooks / literature used to design your lessons?
Every day over 4000 kids begin to smoke. Every year over 10000 kids as young as 11 began to drink for the first time. The reason for all of this? It is simply peer pressure. Kids see older and “cooler kids” lighting up at the corner of their school and talking about the huge party last night with the best game of beer pong , so then the kids think if I could do that then I would be cool.
