In this journal I will be reflecting on September 11 and World Trade Centers and its memorial situation, as well as my thoughts on Oklahoma City’s National Memorial and Museum. I can go on about how horrible 9/11 was but nobody has forgotten nor will forget. I just have a few questions that I have come up with on what happened, and why things happened the way they did. One I never understood why they attacked us In the first place. I need to look into it more but were we oppressing them in some way over sees? I know they attacked us because like most rebelling groups they can’t take on a power like the USA head on. So they attacked in other ways which were obviously successful. I just never understand why they tried in the first place. They had to have known they would lose. But then the quote “one man’s terrorist, is another man’s freedom fighter came to mind. This quote seems to be one of the most difficult obstacles in coping with terrorism. Through this class I want to believe but then I really am not sure what to think of it. However, what I have really noticed in this class is History does seem to repeat itself in its own way. For example there usually seems to be oppression by a larger or stronger group forcing rule on others that don’t agree with. Then that group is prepared to do whatever to fight against this force no matter the odds. Another question that has always bothered me is why did the second tower ever get evacuated after the first was hit?! For one it is very odd to find a plane that low in New York City. And second, if there was something wrong with the plane you would think someone would have been notified to warn the city in general. I do understand that who would think there would have been two planes for both towers. However just as a safety precaution the area would have been evacuated not just the second tower.
