For various reasons, the academy concept is growing in popularity. These academies owe their existence to the coaches and camps that have been able to combine fun and skill improvement to make playing soccer an enjoyable experience. I started off playing soccer as a recreational sport at the age of eleven, but after I attended a few of the CSU camps, it helped me to realize that I was wanting to take soccer to a whole new level, so the camp encouraged me to join Red Star, which is Columbus’ travel soccer team for kids ten to eighteen years old. After I joined Red Star, I was going to a college’s soccer camp every summer to improve my game and to have fun with my friends that went with me. I was going to colleges like Columbus State University, Clemson, and other camps like the Ralph Lundy camp.
At (name of camp) in (location), they provide numerous nature walks and hikes throughout the day. Additionally, the routine and structured time combined with fun and sometimes unstructured activities offer a nice balance, and teaches effective time management. Children learn a sense of community in a different way than schools, as many of the achievements, goals, and rewards are based on collaborative efforts. By learning songs and chants in the mess hall and uncovering inside jokes, the adolescents learn that everyone is more alike than different. At (name of camp), the main focus of the camp is to create a bully free zone where everyone learns how to function within a functional community.
Currently this means that sporting fans are obliged to take a trip to larger towns like Oldburgh if they wish to go to a rugby match or attend an athletics fixture. Also, by not having a sports stadium our City is much less attractive to tourists and other visitors. Currently Newburgh does not provide properly for the important sporting needs of its community. I also try to help others by guiding them to a good decision but not telling them the right one so that they have the choice in their hands. I currently represent the “Service” Trait of NJHS by participating in Art Club. Art Club is a club that makes things like ornaments and valentines to raise money to donate to local organizations like the Tranquility Animal Sanctuary. We do service projects that also include donating ceramics to “Empty Bowls” charity event to help raise money to feed the homeless. We also got to eat what an average homeless person’s intake of food for a day.
I got to dress up, get my face painted, and hang out with kids for four hours. During the hours that I was doing my community service I got to paint characters, designs, and special things on kid’s faces, hands, or arms that went along with their costumes for Halloween. As the kids went around from trunk to trunk, they would stop at my trunk and get a face painting. Most of them wanted the character they were dressed up as on their face, or a princess design for the
It was fun going there but now I just ride my bike passed there knowing that it used to be the place everyone wanted to go. I can’t forget Bentsen Park, the park received new nature trails and boardwalks. As well as the park’s natural beauty as it was transformed into the World Birding Center Headquarters. Bentsen State Park also has a bilingual exhibit hall, gift shop, coffee bar, and a meeting room. Through a partnership with the U.S.
Changing the world for the better is always a great thing. Even if it’s just the daily pick up trash by the trash can. This semester I choose to stay at the same site as I did last time mostly because I love it and I love helping kids learn and play the game of soccer. Grassroots soccer is like a camp for kids below high school to further educate themselves about the tactics of soccer and to work on their playing skills. I did this community service over spring break going on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for four hours.
I plan on using these skills and experiences to impact others in a positive way. After being a part of events, my goal is to plan and create my own. I am interested in nature and wildlife and I hope I can apply my interests in such a way that will make a difference. I'd like to take action and start up a club or organization for people with the same interests as me. Volunteering and giving back to the ecosystem is something I want to accomplish.
“The dust, the fear, the high threat level, the isolation-all of that was the surge the soldiers knew . . . Here, Cummings had another thought: ‘This place is a complete shithole’“ (Finkel 148-149). The frustration of the soldiers develops further as the conditions continue to be unbearable and now deadly.
I also learned a lot an about outdoor ethic and LNT and look forward to applying it in my job in the future. Besides learning rock climbing and LNT I feel I learned a lot about myself as well. I was able to learn what it takes to be a leader, participant, and teacher in these outdoor activities and how to apply what I learned to my future. To start I learned
