The people who live in Youngstown do not experience Wick Park A. How can the population of Youngstown enjoy Wick Park and utilize it more for their own recreation? B. This is a very serious issue in the city of Youngstown. Wick park is seen as a dangerous place in Youngstown. Everyone that goes there always says how “unsafe” they feel when they go there. Everyone always stereotypes Wick Park as one of the most dangerous places surrounding this campus. C. The people of Youngstown are the ones being affected by not feeling safe when going to Wick Park. B. Evaluate possible solutions a. The Environmental Science classes always use the outdoors for lab activities but it’s always around campus. We think extra credit should be offered to students who complete their lab activities at Wick Park and that would give students more of an incentive to spend time there and enjoy its beauty. b. Also, YSU Scape that is a branch of City Scape could come in and possibly pick up trash at Wick Park as a part of one of their monthly projects that they do on Sundays. c. If their was some sort of an incentive for the students to use Wick Park then more people would go there and therefore utilize it which would be a win-win situation all around for the Youngstown community. d. The Environmental Science students could also go plant flowers at the park or dedicate a small garden to all the YSU students that did not make it to graduation due to loss of life. e. People in the community of Youngstown could go to Wick Park and plant a pre-approved flower or tree and dedicate it to whatever cause they please. f. Having the Color Run there and working with Phil Kidd on raising awareness for the fundraiser would make Wick Park a more popular place to
