The Triumvirate of Octavian, Lepidus, and mark Antony ruled Rome after the defeat of the conspirators that had assassinated Julius Caesar. In which now that he is dead, now we know leader of Rome to be Augustus Caesar. See these thought that if they kill Julius that they would be able to run Rome little did they know they were in for an upset. Why, due to there being a legal heir to the throne of Rome. Octavius had been born in Velitrae, a town a southeast of Rome, in 63B.C. His parents were rich and influential his mother was the daughter of Julius Caesar, sister named Julia, which brought him in to close tides with Rome. The young Octavius had been through a lot but this set him up for the things that he didn’t even know he was about to be in control of. So as time went on through the wars and as Julius got older he had on kids so he felt it was necessary to give the thrones heir to Octavius seeing that he was getting older as well. (Baker, 1998) Octavius did as he was commanded, spending his free time studying Greek literature and military strategy. However all this was shattered after find out that his great uncle had been assassinated. (Baker, 1998) Now he returned back to Rome at 18 yrs. old despite what his mother and stepfather said he went on taking the inheritance. So now that they honored that fact that Julius adopted him he took on the name Gaius Julius Caesar.…show more content…
