A love like this is a rarity. And if by chance you find a love like this do not let it go, but cherish it. She ask in the song “Is that too much too be asking for” (44) I think she ask this because we should love like this. Why is love like this so rare? If we love our partner/husband/boyfriend, we need to love with our whole heart.
Finally, Coontz brought forth if someone is not marrying for love but just for the status then what is the point of getting married. I do agree with her about this and also, the point about the media blowing the idea of happily ever after out of proportion by just believing that only true love will hold a marriage together that is false. True love can bring people together but would not keep them together, this is something that marriages cannot solely rely on it takes hard work and dedication to keep a marriage
I think he didn’t let go because he still could see the hope in her eyes and hear the hope in her voice that she thought he would get better.. Even thou they want to go they still don’t want their love ones to suffer. We never want to let go of our love ones because it hurts. We have to do what is best for them and not us. We have to realize that they are the ones in pain and that they are just prolonging what they know is going to happen.
Janie’s Undying Quest for Love All human hearts, at their core, desire love. What this love comes to mean can differ from person to person. How one is brought up can greatly influence their view on what true love is and, for some, leave them without happiness. In Zora Neale Hurston’s Their Eyes Were Watching God, Janie finds true love only when she lets go of what society is telling her to do. Although her Grandmother taught her that love is settling with a wealthy man, Janie does not give up on her vision of love.
During the beginning of the story, A meets Rhiannon, the first girl he has ever loved. Rhiannon is the first person who A has ever told his story to. Unfortunately, despite their love for each other, Rhiannon feels that they cannot be together. Rhiannon knows in heart that she will never be able to overcome the problem of loving a new person each day, even though A explains that he will never change in the inside. In this complicated scenario, the true nature of love is brought out, and the question is asked: Can you love someone who changes every day?
Being able to love is something you have to have within yourself. The three dimensions of passion, intimacy and commitment will continually take great work to continue a growing relationship; it is not a given in yourself or with whom you chose to love. Many miss the opportunity to experience such a love because they fail to realize it takes work. You can have the passion in the relationship; which is more the desire to want to be with that person, and you can have the intimacy of the relationship; which is the feelings of being close to someone, but if you do not have the commitment in the relationship then there is no foundation to build on. The commitment is where the two of you made a decision to love one another and maintain that relationship.

Truly loving someone means being willing to do anything for the person you love, and wanting him or her to be happy no matter what. The latter is hard for most. In some cases for the person you love, them being happy does not always mean being with you.
