Humans have dramatically changed the Earth, and White thinks that our attitudes towards Nature are largely responsible for it. White begins by stating that humans are not the only species that alter the environment in which they live. However, human alterations typically are on a far greater scale, and proceed at a far greater rate, than the alterations of any other species. He also claims that the rise of ecological problems on the scale now occurring is a cultural phenomenon.
Although some stressors cause only minor impacts when acting alone, their cumulative impact may lead to dramatic ecological changes. Climate changes and shifts in ecological conditions could support the spread of pathogens, parasites, and diseases, with potentially serious effects on human health, agriculture, and fisheries. c. Some believe that it’s not as big a concern as others while some believe we are rapidly destroying the planet. As for my personal thoughts on the issue of human overpopulation; I believe people need to be better educated on birth control and the environmental effects of overpopulation. There is a serious need to correct the air pollution and fossil fuel depletion and my hope is by doing so there will be less of a need for wars in order to gain others natural resources . We also need to find a way to fix the depleting fresh water supply because once it’s gone all living things are going to suffer

Contemplation can help individuals engage into the issue for they can be aware of what's going on in their society. Making preparations of gathering information to help with lifestyle changes, and to reach the goals of having a positive impact on the society and environment. Taking action from the preparations can give the strength for motivation for a better outcome of life changes for the environment end the society. Having maintenance of the actions given can alternate the determinat of the individuals behavioral changes (2014, Katie Jewett). The loss of species, never to be seen again, is heartbreaking enough, but the loss of entire ecosystems might not effect anyone emotionally but it will affect them physically, with rising water levels, rising temperatures, and the greenhouse effect. By causing local wildlife to relocate into more urban environments, adversely impacting climate change, and negatively contributing to global atmospheric changes, deforestation should be a huge concern, especially for Americans who are typically more educated then the rest of the world. Americans have a responsibility to nature, and should use the education afforded to them by this country to spread awareness on deforestation. However, there are may that are not able to do that. These that are not able to evolve and adapt to the changes in life are going to disappear and our families will not be able to enjoy them. There are many that say that is not an issue. There are things that the human race has to do to make it possible for survival. The Endangered Species Act should be strengthened due to the fact that they have been able to help so many species survive.
