Amenhotep III's body was found in 1898 along with more than a dozen other royals, including his own grandfather, Amenhotep II. They also found Tutankhamen’s father, Akhenaten. He was tomb was discovered in 1907. When they first discovered his tomb they were not sure the tomb actually belonged to Akhenaten because the mummy was so badly decayed, DNA now shows that it coffin did once retain his body. They also uncovered the tomb of Tutankhamen’s mother, whos name is not known.
It began 1954 as a national holiday. In the year of 1938 it was mad a national holiday but it was called Armistice Day but was later changed to Veterans Day on June 11th 1954 to honor all the veterans. The main reason why Veterans Day was created were to honor all the veterans who live with us and among us who served any branch of the military who helped serve and protect our country. The significant number of eleven as is relates to veterans day is when On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, an armistice, or temporary cessation of hostilities, was declared between the Allied nations and Germany in the First World War, then known as the Great War. Commemorated as Armistice Day beginning the following year, November 11th became a legal federal holiday in the United States in 1938.

On 24 May 2002, former Senator Clinton created legislature to institute a National Purple Heart Hall of Honor. It is a national museum of military members that have been killed or injured while serving combat tours.
Like all movies there is a focus, and the group of soldiers, mainly Tom Hanks’ character, are whose footsteps we follow through throughout the movie. This film is based off of true historical events, as most of us know, World War II and how incredibly gruesome it was, of how the soldiers fought and died and how they coped with what they went through. At the beginning of the movie, we see an old man walking through a maze of graves, obviously from the war, but we do not know who this man is and whose grave he is looking for. Then we see a heavy number of combat-boats carrying soldiers, and we can sense the tension of almost what exactly is going on. We see soldiers of many ages; almost all have faces filled with fear and anxiety while some are vomiting or praying.
The war involved so many men, positioned on a small piece of land. The battle was between the German and French armies and lasted from February 21st, 1916 to December 19th, 1916 and caused over an estimated 700,000 casualties. Throughout the battle countless number of soldiers kept journals and or sent letters back home telling what it is like during the war. The physical conditions of the soldiers played a big part in the battle
Few were returned to their loved ones. Many were left to decompose on the battlefield. This was a site Americans had never witnessed before. Burials were left to the command of the troops and they were overwhelmed with the sheer number of bodies. During this time there was a call for change.
