He was to be buried with ceremony in a tomb to be constructed at the Memorial Amphitheater in Arlington National Cemetery. The unknown soldier of the United States was chosen from four exhumed soldiers taken from the American cemeteries in France on Memorial Day 1921. U.S. Army Sgt. Edward F. Younger selected the Unknown Soldier by placing a spray of white roses on one of the caskets. He chose the third casket from the left.
Pain like a hot iron on skin flooded his legs causing my Uncle to be taken off the line. Later he was transported from Vietnam to Okinawa, Japan and finally back to the states. The Vietnam War was one of America’s longest and most controversial conflicts in history and exacted more than three million fatalities, both civilian and military. The United States government was involved in the war as a means to prevent a communist takeover of not only South Vietnam, but to stop the influence from reaching other nations and thus causing a “domino effect” throughout the world. The Vietnam War also garnered one of the biggest anti-war movements in history; despite the best laid intentions of the U.S. government many people protested U.S. involvement and asked for peace between all countries. The political outcries to stop the war could not contain the military’s strategies to defeat the opponent; this led to a war that spanned almost twenty years, from 1959 to 1977 and went through four different presidents and the assassination of one of them. After the death of a soldier, the living soldiers would have to go around and collect of of their personal belongings and the major would have to collect all of there dog tags. The soldiers that fought together were willing to do anything for the men that they fought with. If something were asked of them, they would do it. In the movie one of the soldiers was dying. He asked the Whittlesey to read his bible to him.

Jake Sully is a former U.S. Marine paralyzed from the waist down because of wounds suffered from combat. Jake had a twin brother named Tom Sully who was supposed to take the Avatar Program, but unfortunately he was killed by a man who robbed him for his money. Colonel Miles Quaritch is a military veteran and is in charge of the security on the colony. Quaritch welcomes the military soldiers and informs them on Pandora.
The engine house was built years after the battle over top of a battlefield where men died. When it was being built and dirt was being removed skulls were found in the hill side. This disruption is believed to have lead to the activity, as well as the metal in the railroad tracks is believed to conduct energy that brings the entities to the area. Current employees say it is a normal thing to experience activity every night. One employee states that one night as he was working fifteen confederate soldiers came out of the woods on the hill side and through the Engine house.

The Gettysburg Address was written by President Abraham Lincoln in November 1863. It was written in both Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania. With only 17 days prior notice, the President was invited to attend a “ribbon cutting” of sorts, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The speech was intended as a short address to the congregation of citizens attending the dedication of the National Cemetery which was memorialized on a portion of the Gettysburg Battlefield. Approximately 15, 000 persons including 6 Governors were in the audience.
On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, Canadians are asked to pause in memory of the thousands of men and women who sacrificed their lives in military service. At public gatherings in Ottawa and around the country, Canadians pay tribute with two minutes of silence to the country's fallen soldiers from the First World War, the Second World War, the Korean War, the Afghanistan conflict and peacekeeping missions.
