Most African Americans and Non racialist strongly agree with this statement. There is no justice in any human being, regardless of race, killing another human being and walking free. According to Alcorn (2013), “Racism certainly still exists in America.” (p.1). There is an extremely slight chance of the verdict being the same if the races were swapped. According to Gyan (2013), “Stand-your-ground law isn’t a license to kill, isn’t always applied evenly, depending on race, and might tempt some people to act rashly.” (p.1). Zimmerman Used this law to his advantage and violated the rights of Trayvon. Zimmerman had no right to pick a fight Trayvon and declare that he was in act of the stand your ground law. He did the opposite of stand his ground and got away with it due to a racial bias jury. Secondly, justice was far from served in the Trayvon Martin Case. There was a plentiful of evidence to put Zimmerman away for the crime he committed. According to CNN Library (2013), “George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch captain in Sanford, Florida, calls 911 to report "a suspicious person "in the neighborhood. He is instructed not to get out of his SUV or approach the person. Zimmerman disregards the instructions.” This is clearly enough evidence to put Zimmerman away for the crime considering he disregarded direct orders. It wasn’t Zimmerman place to pursue Trayvon knowing that is he is not an officer of law or any other part of law enforcement. On the subject of the Trayvon Martin Case, it shows that racism still exist in our country. For instance, if Zimmerman was black and Trayvon was white there is little to no chance
