The world would be a better place if everyone spoke the same language. Discuss! In this era, the 21st century, English is the most common language all over the world. Even if everyone can speak the same language, social, economic and political ties cannot be improved all together. We would also not know our own unique culture. However, we would not have any language barriers and it would be easier to communicate. There would be an ease in communication to anyone when we visit their country or when they visit our country as tourists, have business meetings trades with other people all over the world. It would be a greater interdependence between people and developed in tandem with the global economy. It also helps to create better understanding between individuals. By speaking the same language, we would be diverse and multilingual and help us to unite disparate groups or even weld communities together. For example, when an English speaking family hires an Indonesian or Filipino maid who only knows how to speak a little bit of English to work for them. With a language barrier, when the employer asks the maid to do a task, she would not be able to complete it.…show more content…
