I know that if I do change my thinking, I can actually have a better life, start my day without sadness or depression. For instance, depression makes people to sit at one place and think about stuffs all day, however it is not going to make it better. They must go out and do something. After watching the video, I really want to change my way of thinking. Yet, it always easy to say but hard to do it.
I have previously tried using CD’s to try and help me with confidence, but after seeing this course was available I decided to take the matter into my own hands. EXERCISE 2 I have tried to do the relaxing exercises for this part of the course, but have found it difficult to find time to relax. This is not from want of trying, I have done the exercise but fund myself falling asleep and then waking up not feeling relaxed at all. I find myself easily distracted and I think this is one of the main reasons I have found it difficult to get myself relaxed. I hope when I start the course it will help with my techniques for relaxing and I will find it easier to do these relaxing
At the elementary level, we are shaping how students feel about themselves which can affect them the rest of their lives. At the high school level, we have the opportunity to truly inspire and make a child feel as if someone believes in them. While teachers can do so many positive things with this power, they can also do much harm (as Dr. Wayson spoke on). I really enjoyed this section of his talk, however, my one critique is that I felt Dr. Wayson didn’t practice what he was preaching here. Perhaps he was leading by an alternate example or giving examples of what not to do, but I felt that Dr. Wayson picked on many of the members of the class.
To conclude, BHT will reduce complications and prolonged VA life compared to usual practice of RLT provided that the dialysis staff and patients should be educated on BHT and correct timing for changing from sharp to blunt needles. The problem of infected VA can be overcome by training of the dialysis staff about this procedure and after attending the course, they must do eco-training to other clinical staff and
I given a lot throughout my paper that could educate a lot of people on knowledge that im sure they did not know. I think you will get done reading this paper and learn a lot more about the effects on children from secondhand
What works well for one person may not work at all for another person. According to WebMD.com, “IBS treatments include diet and lifestyle changes and medications.” For people with mild symptoms, learning to manage stress, making dietary changes and lifestyle changes can help to control the condition. It is also important that people stay hydrated, engage in exercise and get enough sleep (Mayo Clinic, 2014). Learning to manage stress and understanding your
But as of today it’s still the same cell block schools in the confined rooms with the teachers teaching what the state wants the teachers to teach the kids so they pass all these tests. And now I hear they want to hold back third graders if they can’t read at a third grade level. So yes I think times have changed in the past centuries on what Gatto says. I feel more and sorrier for the teachers now than I did as I was growing up. I guess I was blind to see how teachers have to teach and how they teach.
Gatto uses this example of knowledge to prove his point that not every successful child went to school. A second time Gatto uses exemplification is when he is explaining his own experience in the school system as a teacher. He remembers that “my own experience had revealed to me what many other teachers must learn along the way, too, yet keep to themselves for fear of reprisal: if we wanted to we could easily and inexpensively jettison the old, stupid structures and help kids take an education rather than merely receive a schooling”. He uses this personal lesson from life to convey that children are only obeying what they are being told, only learning what they need to in order to escape the prison called school. In an example from his childhood, Gatto remembers talking with his grandfather and he “complained to him of boredom, and he batted me hard on the head.
Violet Zektser 10.16.11 Eng 101 Professor McGovern The Whole World is a Classroom Education, so many definitions, but yet not enough coming from the heart. Do we actually know about what it means to be educated or what it should mean to be educated? Jon Spayde narrows the definition in his essay Learning in the Key of Life. Jon Spayde states “The whole world’s a classroom.” Which I would have to agree with, because everywhere people go, people learn. Everything surrounds people with new knowledge whether they want to take it in or not.
Material evaluation should become a need for ELT practitioners, as not many of us have the chance to choose our own material to teach but on the contrary, most of the time, we are given a set of materials to use in our classrooms. According to Tomlinson (2003) “materials evaluation is a procedure that involves measuring the value (or potential value) of a set of learning materials”. The real challenge though, is trying to find a way to make those materials fit our students’ needs and context. For this assignment, I was required to analyze and evaluate the efficiency of some materials from my course book and select some appropriate material to include as a supplement. I will explain the rationale behind the selection of this supplementary material and then will teach a lesson using it.
