We decided to perform the wizard of Oz as it has a theme running throughout with the main sequence being set in a dream/fantasy and the main characters being very non-naturalistic e.g. the main 3 characters are a Lion, Tin man and a scarecrow and they are being hunted by a wicked witch who has a green face and are not characters you would likely come across. This links to kneehigh as the characters that they portray are often fairy-tale/stock characters e.g. bad witch in Hansel and Gretel. Although this musical rarely breaks the fourth wall we will incorporate this into our version to add more non naturalistic features and make our performance unique.
Machu Picchu is one of many royal estates built by the Inca Emperors. It is located in Cuzco, Peru. Machu Picchu is 7,970 feet above sea level. The mountain is smack dead in the middle of a tropical forest. Burger (n.d.), “The term Machu that precedes Picchu means old and was used by locals to differentiate it from the small hill behind it called Huayna Picchu, which means young” (p. 5) Machu Picchu was home for royal blood, servants, farmers, and care givers when not many people were around in the winter.
“Shattered City” is one of the most significant and appealing piece of Canadian history. It is a narrative story of how a tragic incident took place at the height of First World War which became a living metaphor for the worldwide conflict and how Halifax arose from the ashes after severe destruction and devastation. This movie is directed to illustrate the fatal event that took place on early hours of December 6th, 1917 between the period of First World War (1914-1918) which killed more than 2,000 people, injured 9,000 more and completely destructed the northern part of the city of Halifax by flattening two square kilometers of northern Halifax. It is the retelling of an almost forgotten event in Canadian history. On December 6th,1917, the Mount Blanc, a French-owned freighter loaded with thousands of tons of TNT, collided with a Belgian relief ship and exploded in the Halifax harbor.
Oregon State Capitol Jessica Ridderbusch Arts/100 11/26/2012 Doris Doyon `Oregon State Capitol After a lot of thought and consideration of the different buildings and attractions here in the Willamette Valley, I have decided to discuss our very own State Capitol. On the night of April 25, 1935, the capitol was destroyed by a fire that speeds quickly from the bottom story up through dome-supporting column shafts. An investigation determined that the fire was accidental and that it originated in the storeroom-service area in the basement of the east entrance wing. Officials wasted no time preparing plans for the new building. The Designed by Francis Keally with the New York firm of Trowbridge & Livingston and dedicated on October 1,
But sure enough the mother of the house puts a stop to this commotion. Being sent to his bedroom for the night, Max soon finds a jungle evolving inside of his bedroom. As a luscious forest begins to develop, so does the journey Max sets sail on. With the use of wonderful text, beautiful illustrations, and a life changing theme, Maurice Sendak tells the story of “Where The Wild Things Are”. Initially, the text of the story creates the foundation.

More recently, there was Hitler's genocidal six-million-death final solution to the Jewish problem, and the Communists' ten of millions of mass murders continue to this day. All this has been done without benefit of nuclear power. Many made comments came at the beginning of the atomic or nuclear age, and while the source and the judgment deserve respect, experience has shown that nuclear power in Western hands deterred a third world war and ultimately caused the collapse of the greatest
A Film Critique of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is a delightful children’s film that is very interesting, fascinating and also symbolizes events described in the Bible (Adamson). The children in the film, Lucy, Edmund, Susan, and Peter live in London during the war but are sent to live with the professor because of the air raids. When they play hide and seek, the children discover the magical wardrobe. All of the children end up going through the wardrobe and find themselves in the land of Narnia. In the land of Narnia they are known as the sons of Adam and the daughters of Eve and according to prophecy will restore peace to Narnia and rule out the evil white witch.
The movie that I chose to watch for this assignment was Hotel Rwanda. Hotel Rwanda was directed and produced by Terry George and was released in December of the year 2004. The three main characters in this movie were Don Cheadle, Sophie Okonedo, and Joaquin Phoenix. This movie is based on a true story in Rwanda, it is about a hotel manager, Paul Rusesabagina, who sheltered over a thousand Tutsi refugees to keep them safe and away from the Hutu militia. Although Paul is a part of the Hutus, he feels the need to keep the Tutsis safe.
