The question was : What role does supernatural play in the texts you have read in the Mythology genre? Answer:The book The Lost Hero is set in America and Canada, where Western Civilization burns the most. The reason a Greek based book is set in America is because, in the book, Greek Myths have been ‘nesting’ where Western Civilization has burned brightest. Greek gods, monsters and other creatures have been following Western Civilization for a long time now and they won’t stop until all of Western Civilization is completely destroyed. According to Rick Riordan, Mount Olympus (where the gods stay) is located on the 600th floor of the Empire State building and Mount Othrys (titan’s base during first Olympian war) is located on Mount Tamalpais, San Francisco (Frisco). Some aspects of the setting which establishes the novel as part of the adventure and fantasy novel is that the borders of Camp Half Blood is protected by a tree with magical powers that doesn’t let humans or monsters (only half-bloods) inside the borders unless the monster, creature or human have been summoned by one of the members of the camp. Another aspect of the setting is that while the characters, Jason, Leo and Piper, were at Pikes Peak to visit Aeolus, there was a chasm in the central section in his castle and there was a long way down and Jason thought that if someone who couldn’t fly stepped into the chasm, it would be a very long, very fatal fall. The ‘central’ of Aeolus’s fortress was a big as a cathedral with a roof that was really high and was domed. Television equipment like cameras, spotlights and set pieces floated randomly around the room in the air. Another good aspect of the setting is at the Wolf House where Jason was trained by Lupa, a wolf. Hera, the goddess of marriage and family, was locked in a cage that was made out of Earth and could be controlled by the Mother of Earth,
