Level I nurseries are now uncommon in the United States. Healthy babies typically share a room with their mother, and both patients are usually discharged from the hospital quickly. [4] Level II provides intermediate or special care for premature or ill newborns. At this level, infants may need special therapy provided by nursing staff, or may simply need more time before being discharged. Level III, the Neonatal intensive-care unit (NICU), treats newborns who cannot be treated in the other levels and are in need of high technology to survive.

This report describes the results of that effort. The data and other state information on which this report is based was collected over three years, ending with a final conference call with ombudsman staff from the four grantee states, held in January 2004. The final report incorporates feedback subsequently provided by the ombudsmen who participated in the project. The primary goal of the long-term care ombudsman program is to serve as an advocate on behalf of the residents of long term care facilities. Created as a demonstration program in 1972, as part of the federal government's effort to correct widely reported problems in the nation's nursing homes, the program was established nationwide by the 1978 amendments to the Older Americans Act.
According to World Health Organization (2006), “experience with change processes and the development of supporting information systems suggest that stakeholders should be actively involved in the design of any new system” (pg. 24). Stakeholders can be identified as anyone who has an interest in the achievements of the health care organization such as the doctors, nurses, and the chief of operations, and even patients could all be considered as stakeholders of an organization. Stakeholders’ interests will usually lie in the success or failures of the organization by maintaining accomplishments to benefit those that the organization serves. Stakeholders would normally regulate the effectiveness of information systems by monitoring project status reports, evaluations, and surveys that can be distributed to the employees of the organization, which utilizes the new system.
The viable way to increase the volume of BSN graduate is to promote state wide and mandated articulation agreements and create an environment where academic progression is facilitated. The first step in the process of implementing articulation agreements is to bring together nursing educators at the BSN and ADN level to assess prerequisites, transfer credit and evaluate the overall curriculum. Despite this, some women have found that they prefer to give birth at home or in a birthing center with the assistance of a midwife. Midwives tend to be overlooked as an option for birth and are, in some cases, frowned upon. In midwife assisted birth, minimal intervention takes place, and a natural birth is truly natural: the body does what it is physiologically trained to do on its own, rather than using modern medicine to speed it up.
We, as clinicians must give the mother, up to date information so that she may make an informed decision. There are some financial constraints that prohibit the necessary training necessary to support the breastfeeding mother. It is recommended that perinatal nurses receive a minimum of 18 hours lactation education. (The Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, 2010). This is not always a viable option in some organizations.
While parents cannot determine whether their children have sex, use contraception, or become pregnant, the quality of their relationships with their children can make a real difference (Miller, 1998). The family unit must be restored. Parental influence focusing on the issues surrounding adolescent sexuality may help many teens from becoming parents at an early age.
