The four p’s of marketing The four p’s of marketing Define the 4 P’s of marketing mix, product, pricing, placement, ad promotion. Why are these elements so important to marketers? In your opinion is one more important than the other? Why or why not. Think of three new products that you have recently purchased. Which of the 4Ps of marketing seemed to have the biggest influence on what you bought and where you bought it from? What environmental influences seem to be affecting what you and your friends are buying today? What signs do you see that others are being affected by global, economics, and social influences? Product is an item that ideally satisfies a market’s wants or need. Pricing is determining what a company will receive in exchange for its products. Placement is putting the product in a place where people will buy it. Promotion is to contribute to the progress or growth of/attempt to sell or popularize by advertising or publicity. These elements are important because they keep businesses our way of life going. It helps them know the wants and demands of the consumers, the price range to charge for it, ideas and best ways to get your products name/image out there and noticed, helps you figure out where would be best place to put your product for optimum sales. I think that all the elements are equally important in their own way/section. To succeed and be profitable you need all of these elements working together to complete the task. It is like a ladder, you take away any element is like taking away a couple of steps, making it impossible to climb to the top. The three newest products that I have bought were a Samsung Galaxy S11 from Alltel, 1 ¾ platform slide with 6 inch heel and criss cross ankle strap stilettoes from Stiletto Style, and a long Chiffon floral print style 8705 dress from David’s Bridal.
