In reference to the movie ‘Juno’ discuss the effects on a person’s well-being if you were a pregnant teenager, still at school and living at home. An individual’s wellbeing is the effective management of resources that can assist in achieving goals to satisfy their needs and wants therefore acquire self-actualisation. Juno being only a 16 year old high school girl there can be dramatic effects on her wellbeing. Wellbeing is made up of 6 components: Spiritual, Political, Emotional, Economic, Physical and Social. One’s level of wellbeing can be very different from that of the people around them. So no matter how positive the people around Juno may be she could be the complete opposite. Emotional wellbeing relates to one’s state of mind, emotions or mental health. Sometimes people nmbncan hide their emotions, not letting you see the effect that something has on their emotional wellbeing. Juno being pregnant she will release a lot of hormonal changes and very emotional stages to go through, seeing most of her emotions. It may be she is in pain, upset and crying or she is beyond happy to be carrying an unborn child. One thing that is hard to see is Juno’s emotions; she is a very mono tone person who doesn’t show many facial expressions. This means that people may never realise the effect that their actions may have on her emotional wellbeing. The economic component of one’s wellbeing relates to the financial situation they are in. They might have a job that they get an income from, they could be receiving payments from the government (pension, youth allowance etc.), they might be receiving money from their parents (pocket money) or in Juno’s case they are unemployed. The film doesn’t show Juno working so you assume that she is currently unemployed. This however doesn’t matter as much due to the fact that Vanessa and Mark, the adoptive family agreed to pay for
