Aragon’s trustworthiness gets the Hobbits as far as they can go before getting attacked by the Black Riders. Gandalf leaves a message for Frodo which says to trust Aragon and that, “All that is gold does not glitter” (Tolkien 193). This clearly states that Aragon may look like a ranger and bad but he really is a good guy who can be trusted. Aragon shows his leadership quality throughout the journey of the Fellowship. He leads the Hobbits after he joins them at the Prancing Pony.
What would he say if he saw us now or what would Beorn say? I don't want to think about it or that we might not see them again. My thoughts keep drifting back to my family and friends. To think I was once the most respected hobbit, in the Shire, like my father and the rest of the Baggins, to, if we survive and go back, a hobbit no one respects! I wonder if my father would respect me.
Clayton Vannata Professor Manter Seminar 001 May 16, 2013 Analytical Essay “Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend” (Albert Camus). A true friend can either be in a romantic relationship or a completely platonic one. This type of friend, in either category, knows when what’s being asked of them is too far; they are also those who want to see the best in you and will always be by your side, even when the going gets tough.
chrysalidsBody paragraph 3 Uncle Axel is a good mentor to David because he serves as a good role model to David. He serves as a good role model to David when he inspires David to admire him and follow his footsteps because of the loyalty and respect he shows towards David that others such as leader Joseph Strorm do not. A role model is someone that is admirable because of the qualities they possess and someone you want to follow the footsteps of. Qualities such as loyalty and respect are both key to being a good mentor. A loyal person is someone that can be trusted upon.
The ring was a major factor that made Bilbo become invisible , which indeed helped in battle to defeat his enemies . The ring make Bilbo defy the laws of conventional Hobbit living . First Bilbo was helping himself out of trouble but with the ring by his side he heightened confidence , he started helping out his friends himself . The ring helped Bilbo saved the dwarves from the giant spiders , wood elves and many more . The greatest personal accomplishment he made was giving away the arkenstone to Bard to create peace .
No, I do not feel that George is honest when he says that he would be better off without Lennie. He is a loyal friend and takes responsibility for Lennie's actions. I think he said that out of frustration for the life he is currently living. George has big dreams, owning a farm for example, and he is impatient to see them come true. He truly loves Lennie as a father would and would probably be lost without him in his life.
This is his only “sin” to be shown throughout the poem and he does pay for it. This small token that will supposedly save his life causes him a knick of a cut from the King who turns out to be Lord Bertilak under the command of Morgan le Fay. This whole thing was a ruse in order to strike fear upon Queen Guinevere. Sir Gawain is deeply hurt that he has failed and proclaims to use the girdle as a reminder of his sins so that he shall never fall victim to them again. Gawain is hardest upon himself because he has such faith within higher powers and he felt as if he owed them his forever servitude.
If Uncle Axel like David’s father who hates mutant, he would not have told him his special ability. Another example, “ "I want you to promise me that you will never, never tell anyone else what you have just told me - never”(4,31) This quote is describing the situation where Uncle Axel finds out about David can communicate with others only use his thought. He reacts quietly and calmly and tells David to never tell anyone, do not do it out loud any more. The readers can get some important information from here -- Uncle Axel seems lenient and accepting towards differences. If he did not, he would not taught ,explained and helped David to understand about Waknuk's rules and their views on people who are different from the image of God.
A knight must be brave and courageous. Sir Gawain’s courage was most evident when he accepted the challenge of the Green Knight. None of the other knights in the hall accepted the challenge right away—so Arthur, “waved his beard and waited for someone to rise; when no one answered, he coughed, as if embarrassed” (230). His courage was demonstrated throughout the rest of the story in the task to search for the Green Chapel, knowing he would be away from his castle and his loved ones during the holiday, and in his will to keep the promise that he made with the Green Knight. Although, some might say that Gawain was not being courageous when he flinched and turned away the first time the Green Knight brought the axe down for the first blow, after promising he would take the blow
They also encounter unspeakable evil including Sauron the creator of the Ring, the Nazgul or Dark Riders of Mordor, Gandalf's nemesis The Balrog, the evil wizard Saruman the White. Through it all the friendship between these four Hobbits never waivers it only gets stronger as the journey goes on. Fate caused Frodo to inherit the Ring and it became his destiny to destroy it, but he undertook the task by choice to save the Shire and the Hobbits he cared about. It was his choice alone and while Sam felt responsible for Frodo as did his cousins Merry and Pippin it was their choice to accompany Frodo. While friendship may not have been the original reason Frodo left the Shire with these three it was definitely friendship and a strong sense of camaraderie that kept them together even after the journey became treacherous.
