The Taj Mahal is one of the greatest works of art. Tourists who come to India from abroad cannot have the satisfaction of visiting it unless they come face to face with the grand edifice, the Taj Mahal, described as a wonder. A Muslim king has left for posterity a monument of eternity. Ages may roll by but the Taj Mahal will survive the ravages of hot sunshine, storms and heavy rains. Nature should be considerate to the extraordinarily graceful, awe-inspiring monument. The Taj Mahal is a radiant jewel in the crown of the empress of India. Let the radiance grow more and more radiant and spread in every direction and delight the hearts of all lovers of sublime architecture. The Taj Mahal is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The Pisa Tower of Italy, the Hanging Gardens of Babylonia and the Great Wall of China, are some of these seven wonders. It is said that the Great Wall of China is visible from the Moon. The Taj Mahal has a charm of its own. The tall, four shiny minarets, on the sides of the tombs of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal, are breathtakingly beautiful. On a full moon night the beauty of the Taj Mahal is enhanced a hundred times more. It is well-known that the Taj Mahal was built by the famous Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan, in memory of his pretty, dear wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal is a monument symbolic of the profound love between an emperor and his wife. Three centuries have gone by since it was built. More than twenty thousand workers built it for more than twenty years, it is said. After the work of building the Taj was over the hands of the masons and their assistants were chopped off as they should not build another marble structure like the unrivalled Taj, it is said.
