Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Systemic lupus erythematosus commonly known as (SLE) is an autoimmune disease characterized by acute and chronic inflammation of the body’s tissues. This autoimmune disease commonly involves complications or failure of the Heart, Kidney, Skin, Blood, ,Joints ,and Lungs. You may be wondering what an autoimmune disease is, it’s an illness that occurs when your body is being attacked by your very own immune system. SLE effects everyone in different ways. this form of lupus can cause payralization If lupus attacks the brain, it may cause seizures, leading to stroke-like paralysis and worse. Also poisoning of the blood do to the body attacking itself .The emotional distress of this disease is most common to lead to depression before, and during due to the fact that this disease is difficult diagnose. The most affected by this is women of all ages but found most common in the ages (20-45).women are actually 8 times more susceptible to SLE than men although they can still be effected. The rash is usually the first symptom of SLE and also persistent, unlike the rest of the signs that tend to flare up and come and go. This skin rash ranges from mild blush to scaling and itching. The sun-exposed parts of the face and neck can develop redness or rashes as well. Also blue, red or white discoloration of the skin is noticed in cold climate or cold water. This sign known as “the Reynaud’s phenomenon” is also seen on regions like tip of nose, ears, feet and or fingertips. There is medicine for these symptoms than can keep them at ease and make it less difficult to deal with not everyone gets these symptoms so be sure not to self diagnose see a doctor for you questions or
