Spiritual Emphasis in Lifespan Development Cesia Oliveros Clemons Liberty University Abstract The words of this paper offer an ample but yet concise view of the importance of moral and spiritual formation throughout life. There are several aspects when revising this subject. It includes the views of different developmentalist such as Willard, Piaget and Fowler. For decades, the study of Fowler’s Theory of Faith Development has been a model of spiritual growth in the religious field. Fowler designed a method of six stages as a way to measure faith development in the individual. The result of this work will be one that clarifies the mind of those who through the lifespan have held unanswered questions about having faith in something other than themselves, which in turn can draw them to God with certainty of His existence, not only verbalizing but, with the indwelling of His Spirit in those who believe. “ Spiritual Emphasis in Lifespan Development” covers also the moral aspects of humanity in relation of integrity and religious belief. In general, this research will intellectually will address the basics into religious and spiritual development as a whole. Religious development is absolutely significant for developmentalist, psychologist, religious representatives and theorist all across the world. They emphasize with great efforts about the necessity for a society with not only growing spiritual formation but also moral formation. Though they look very similar to the simple eye, the reality is that it is a lot more complex than that, however, once the exact meaning of it is cleared and understood, the concept of spiritual versus moral becomes now logical and a lot more easy to balance.
