The American Dream Everyone has an idealized version of life that they believe to be true. The common thought is that in order to live a worthwhile life everyone should have wealth, love and true happiness. This however is not what actually happens. These are fairy tale thoughts and everyone knows that fairy tales are not true. The American Dream can be achieved in different aspects by different people.

Today’s media, be it in print, on the television, internet, or talk radio, plays a major role in the American political system. The media is owned by several companies and is out to make a profit. Some of these large companies are CNN, FOX, NBC, various talk radio programs, and popular items in print from Newsweek, The New York Times, The Washington Post, etc. These media outlets are all influenced by many sources, as are our top political figures. It seems the media is growing more powerful with time which is, in my opinion, both good and bad.

Audrey vs. Paris: Icon vs. Anti-icon Who is your icon? Who do you look up to? Are they your hero as well? As humans we are frequently held back by our fears, unwilling to risk losing for the chance to win. In ‘Look Both Ways,’ Sarah Watt demonstrates that a fear of death can prevent people from living fully, just as the blackness of grief and suffering can also cripple the human spirit. As we are faced with fear and hardships, we must each learn to cope and in becoming resilient, life is somehow more complete. Fear of death can play a major role in our life choices, however in order to experience life in its entirety, we must face our fears and develop resilience for the future. Fear can overtake the human mind, preventing us from acting as we would most desire.
These factors that many think that could be adversarial are race, gender, sexual orientation, and pedigree. Those people believe that all those components will be a problem to some who think that just working hard is enough to become successful. Although many people such as Horatio Alger, the author of “Ragged Dick”, have different opinions on how an individual can accomplish something in life, everyone achieves success differently. For most citizens of America, they believe that they must work hard to achieve what they want in life. Some do not think that any other factors such as race or social economic status can affect the outcome of an individual’s life.
Everyone makes mistakes, but those mistakes are ultimately how lessons are learned. Without choices and decisions to make, life would be redundant and meaningless. Choices give different lives diversity. The decisions people make are based on their form of personality, and with every fork in the road, they are giong to make the same kind of decisions every time. People can change their fate by changing the decisions they make in the process.

Representing Los Angeles baseball teams are the Dodgers, for basketball it is the Lakers, and for football it is the Raiders. In the world of sports these two cities are considered "big markets" meaning they have a very large fan base. Both cities have lots of money to spend of their superstars; therefore they both have successful franchises each with their share of championships.
In the real world, humans are faced with challenges they are not always up to fight for. In a sense, Henry was busy thinking about running and his fear of death that he couldn’t actually be the good soldier he was taught to be. As in good soldier, being the person who goes about killing, fighting, and defending not worrying about if dying is the ending. These are not always the best of things, but this is what soldiers are taught to do. This is their job!
