Fewer companies are willing to enter the market because of the SOX requirements that make going public too costly. Plus, the maintenance required to stay public is too expensive for smaller companies, forcing companies to look elsewhere to raise capital. Rising costs persuade large numbers of companies to exit the public markets to sidestep SEC regulation, creates two problems. First, the overall economy could suffer because corporations limit investment projects due to the higher-cost sources of capital to fund potentially new operations. Second, financially stressed companies that go dark are the very companies’ shareholders need to monitor usually and where transparency is most important.
However, pensioners will be hit hard because the extra income they earn from saving will have dramatically reduced, making them worse off. On the other hand, savers may leave the pound for better interest rates in other countries (hot money), causing a fall in the demand for the pound. As a result the value of the pound will fall, making exports cheaper and there will be an injection of net exports. However, it takes a long time for changes in interest rates to feed through to consumption and investment and by then the economy may have gotten worse.
Conversely, the United States’ output and employment would suffer and lead to larger increases in interest rates over the long term (Page & Reichling, 2012). Higher interest rates would prove extremely detrimental to the economy. Not only would it stifle growth in general, but it would also increase the amount of money the government would have to spend to service its debt. This would hamper government spending that produces a benefit to the economy. Sequestration offers limited austerity now and could reduce the need for more drastic, Greecelike austerity measures in the
On the other hand, as a result of the new reef centre it’s likely the budgeted costs will increase as the cost of the project is huge. After an extensive review into their budgeted costs and predicted profits I think that they are not in a good enough financial position to take on this project. Not saying that the illegals are necessarily “taking” the jobs from Americans, it is just making it hard for anyone to find a job because the U.S. is growing in population, therefore making jobs scarce. If more immigrants came, the population would grow to a higher extent, making it even harder for anyone to find work. More U.S. citizens would be unemployed, because the immigrants are taking up a great portion of the population. I think that we should grant the illegals that already live here citizenship, then close the borders.
