These lower prices may lend to making enough profit to sustain the current workforce. Unemployment leads to less spending. Less spending means fewer jobs will be available and the vicious cycle continues. An increasing amount of products from China are being imported to the United States. Yvonne Smith, a communications director at the Port of Long Beach states, "We export cotton, we import clothing.
Planning to expandthe Hangzhou facility must be approved by the government. Knowledge of the laws and traderegulations of the country helps to avoid legalities that could be costly. An example of China¶scomplexity is the decision to cap the annual rate of return to 12% on foreign investors interestedin building and operating power-plants (Hodgetts, Luthans, & Doh, 2005). China is a communiststate and makes up its regulatory rules spontaneously. Not only the ROCE has improved, the gearing ratio has decreased by 4%. This means the business is low geared, and it reduces the long term risk of superstyle. Nevertheless Superstyles asset turnover has decreased. This is not so good as they receive less money from every asset owned. However the reason for that is their high profit margin, which means that it will decrease when the profit margin will decrease as well.
What should CEO Werner say to the Division Chiefs? Is the decision ethical? Why or why not? This is a hard question to answer. More and more companies are doing business in China due to the lower production costs.
Sarbanes-Oxley Act reiterates the importance of the cost of law to the companies and to the future of the economy by placing officers in charge of such obligations. “These officers require lower-level employees to certify accuracy of those portions of the financials for which they are responsible, and are creating a practice of a series of meetings down the line to discuss control issues” (Carney, 2006, p 144). Many other sanctions have been put into place to regard the cost of owning a business and the importance of safekeeping of financial records. “The law also forbids corporate loans to officers and directors, requires issuers to disclose a code of ethics for senior financial officers or explain why one has not been adopted, and prohibits adverse employment actions against whistle-blowers” (Carney, 2006, p 144). Even though the average price of products and taxes in BC are high, the residents of BC generally have a good living of standard. Jobs are not hard to find either. For example, students can easily obtain a part-time job even if they do not have outstanding resumes. On the other hand, in Taiwan, the minimum wage is only around $4.00, and it is not easy to find a job.
This election is going to be close and with Hurricane Sandy bringing devastating effects to the East Coast, it could ultimately change the course of the election completely. Throughout the essay I plan on discussing Obama’s political policies, as well as comparing them to his opponent Romney’s. Education: Obama has a clear set mind that to rebuild a broken nation it must first start with educating the nation. He believes that with proper education it will create many jobs and is a gateway to middle- class life. He comments that companies “have to look for workers in China because they couldn't find any with the right skills here at home.” This is why he has been reforming education and helping states develop more comprehensive schools, so that people can learn the right skills needed to get a job.
